Fantastic pistol. It had every upgrade I was looking for in a 1911 without breaking the bank. Aggressive checkering gives you a nice grip. Super accurate and 100% reliable for me.

I ordered this gun after handling one a friend owns. When it arrived at my LGS, I took it home and unboxed it. The fit and finish were extraordinarily well done, and the checkering on the front strap was crisp and clean. The stainless metal is very durable, and looks great. The night sights were very well set up, with enough space around the front sight when viewed through the rear sight for the front sight to be very easily seen. The trigger was crisp, and regularly broke at 4 1/4 pounds, according to my trigger scale. It's a heavy gun, but that helps tame the recoil. The mag well was perfectly fitted, with no light visible between the mag well and the gun. It came with two magazines that held 7 rounds each. A quick trip to my range showed great accuracy, with a full magazine going into a hole the size of a golf ball from 7 yards, off hand. This has become one of my go to 1911s, and I have shot it in IDPA, USPSA and carried it as a duty weapon for my Law Enforcement job. I highly recommend this gun to anyone who wants a really high quality 1911.

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. After using and carrying this item regularly I've come to appreciate how "loaded" it comes out of the box for the price. This firearm is excellent in every respect. Springfield Armory makes outstanding 1911. This is well worth your money. And, of course, Bud's is excellent to buy from.

This a great 1911. How can you go wrong with a Springfield TRP .45? Buds Guns had excellent service and everything arrived as expected. I’ll be back.

Sorry glock 21 for thinking I could replace you as my primary duty weapon with a firearm that costs 3 times as much. Although this trp does come with lots and lots of extras not found on cheaper 1911’s all of which were great, mine had 1 issue. The slide would not lock back after the last round with any other magazine other than the Springfield factory mags. So if u think that u can just use any other name brand 8 round mags, it won’t, or mine didn’t. the slide would fail to lock back after the last round about half the time. Unacceptable for me as a duty weapon. I did send it back to Springfield and then sold it. Google it, it’s a well known problem in the forums. For what it’s worth I used to have a mil spec that never had any issues whatsoever. Buds as always was flawless, I buy all my firearms through them.

Ideal 1911 for me. This is one of those rare instances where I was able to read much and buy once. The Springfield Armory PC9107L had everything that I wanted and nothing I didn't. Springfield Armory says that the TRP is their "best value" 1911. It certainly was for me. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I received my TRP yesterday (23 Sept 2015) and fired the first 50 rounds this morning. The pistol is accurate and I had no stoppages or failures to lock back the slide (used Chip McCormick 10 round powermags). As the previous reviews state, the front strap checkering is aggressive, and the grips have the texture of an alligator. This is good for adverse condition shooting, but will get a little old for square range use. Not to worry, mountains of aftermarket grips are available. Now, for the bad: the second thing I did after registering my pistol with Springfield was to contact their warranty department. Seems during the fifty rounds I fired (the very first 50 out of the gun) it managed to relieve itself of one of the tritium lamps in the rear sight. I await instructions as to whether it goes back to Springfield, Trijicon, and will they want the whole gun, slide, or sight only. Overall, I am pleased with the pistol. Springfield delivered two magazines, a (cheap plastic) holster and magazine pouch, and all the usual paperwork. This is my second TRP, and fourth Springfield 1911. I have fired tens of thousands of rounds across my other three (one retired at 50,000 rnds) with no more maintenance than recoil spring replacements. I anticipate the same out of this pistol. Tossing a tritium lamp has occurred on some of my other guns so it is no big deal.

Just received this beautiful springfield trp stainless a few days ago and I couldn't be happier I took it to the range today and fired 100 round pistol shot amazing love the trigger and I had no malfunctions. I really like everything about the pistol the grips are aggressive and the front checkering is very aggressive I was worried about it because of what I heard on other reviews but it's not to aggressive in my opinion I really like it gives you a great grip on the weapon. Thanks buds best price I could find and fast shipping I had the pistol in 4 days after ordering it.

Outstanding pistol! I've slowly been coming to realize what so many people already knew; the 1911 platform is simply excellent and has become my favorite. I could not believe how smooth and yet tight the slide action is and its almost uncanny accuracy. The front strap is unusually sharp yet I only notice it when I'm just admiring the pistol. Once I begin firing, it holds perfectly in my grip and is very comfortable. I love this pistol in every way. It may force some of my many SIG's to take a back seat as my favorite shooter. Like I said, Outstanding pistol!

Bought this TRP because I've wanted one for a lot of years. I'll tell ya what it was worth the wait. Looks gorgeous and feels awesome in the hands. Fired 50 rds through it and it's amazingly accurate. No problems at all. If your looking to get an awesome 1911 don't hesitate on this one. This was my first purchase through Buds but it definitely won't be the last. I'll be coming back for more!

Excellent fit and finish. The most solidly built 1911 I have come across. Much better quality that my loaded model. The 20 lpi checkering is sharp at first, takes a little getting used to, but wouldn't have it any other way. Bud's delivers as promised.

Very nice, this 1911-A1 does live up to the hype that many people talk about. So far, this gun has gone through over 1000 rounds and not once has it ever malfunctioned. I recommend using Wilson Combat magazine "47D"

This gun is just hands down the best shooting gun I have. I can not say one bad thing about it and Buds was great to work with.

This is the first Sprinfield I have ever owned. I have Smiths and Kimbers. This gun is amazing!! This it is hands down the best. I shoot if for the first time last night, 5 shots w/1.5" groupings at 15 yrds, standing not resting the gun on any thing. This pistol shot so good. I'm now looking for the Micro Compact. I would recommend this gun to any one looking at 1911's.
