HFS! This is a fun gun to shoot. Some would probably argue that there are practical uses for a gun like this... maybe there and maybe I don;t really care. I do know that I thought I was going to need my smile to be surgically removed after my first trip to the range with my 460. Fit in finish is typical SW revolver (absolutely excellent). The single action trigger is light and very crisp. I have no trouble shooting eight inch groups at 100 yards with the iron sites, so I suspect a scope could make this gun a serious hunting weapon. Ill second to points raised by a previous reviewer. 1) being able to shoot 454's and especially 45 colt ammo is a big plus. If nothing else because siting this beast in with the mag lodes would have been near imposable but was quick and easy with the 45 colts. And 2... Double up on the hearing protection. I use foam plugs and clam shells and its not bad. I suspect that firing this weapon without hearing protection, even outdoors would be regretted, permanently. Recoil is... stout but manageable (especially with good gloves) and the mussel blast is nothing less than spectacular. Id not recommend this firearm as a first or even 4th gun, but if you are anticipating an attack by the rhino-people, in to hand gun hunting, or just in to collecting, this one is worthy of a (large) place in the gun safe.
