This is a good lever action gun you can shoot 44 special and 44 mag out of it

Very Pleased with this purchase. Functions and shoots well. I had an issue with the front sight hood falling off but after contacting Marlin they were very responsive and sent a replacement hood promptly. Buds was great as expected.

I'm disappointed. I put 100 rounds through it when I first bought it during the pandemic but haven't taken it back to the range until this week. Now, the lever locks open every 50 rounds or so. Neither I nor the range master could unjam the rifle by pushing the stuck round back into the tube. With only 200 rounds through it, I'm sending it to a gunsmith. If he can fix it, it will be a great rifle. If not, it's mostly useless.

One of the first three weapons that I purchased. I really enjoy this at the shooting ranges as it is very smooth in its operation.

I had to return the gun to Marlin first time because the front sight was loose and screws broken off in the barrel. Then sent back second time because the new screws holding front sight were too long and were sticking into the barrel bore. That’s a pretty big blunder. After that all is fine and I love the rifle. Hopefully Ruger will do a better job with Marlin.

I purchased this rifle for my son and it was of better fit and finish than another one I purchased at the same time he loves it and has taken several whitetail deer with it. I hope that the new Marlin company will install the larger loop lever as standard.The aftermarket ones are awfully pricey.

Beautiful rifle , but the side gate spring was very stiff so I kept getting my finger pinched.. Also , slower loading than a tube, so I traded it for a Henry.

I love this gun. It's one of my favorites. I've purchased three guns from Buds and every experience was superb. Highly recommended.

Solid firearm, shoots well and puts a niiiice hole in whatever is on the receiving end since it's a 44. Gun shoots well once you get the sight on and with very little recoil the gun is great for some range fun. Only issues are loading rounds and working the action slowly. The rims catch on the reciever when loading so you really have to jam them in there. And if youre being to "nice" to the gun she wont eject properly. As a hunting gun it wont matter but on the range it can get annoying having to jam every round in.
All in all if youre looking for a lever gun to fill that cowboy itch this is not a bad choice. Just treat the gun like a $700 gun not a $2000 gun and you'll be fine. This tool was made to take a beating so dont be afraid to rough it up.
Good gun. Treat it like a tool not an artifact. Run the action hard and she'll do whatever you ask. Worth the price.

shoots great nice brush gun

Was looking for a 1894 Marlin in 44 magnum. Could not find any local so I went on line to Buds Guns and there it was. This purchase went smoother than buying at a gun store. I cannot thank Buds enough for the expedience in processing my order. Placed the order Tuesday afternoon and my FFL dealer called Thursday morning advising my Marlin was there. Upon opening the box everything was perfect and in order. This gun is beautiful the walnut stock is perfect as is the forearm. The bluing is very nice also. Remington is getting it right. After a thorough cleaning I was off to the range. Sighted it at 50 yards and what a surprise. After a few fouling shots the gun shot less than a inch with some rounds touching the same hole. Was very happy with this gun and Buds made it happen. Thanks again to Buds and I will purchase from them from now on. It was that simple purchasing this gun from Buds. If anyone has any reservations about buying a gun on line take it from me go online like I did and in a matter on minutes I received my shipping confirmation from Buds.

I recently bought this Marlin 1894 in .44 mag., but wanted to wait until I actually shot it before presenting a review. Firstly Remington/Marlin has greatly improved these rifles over the early changeover days. The wood to metal fit is as good as an older JM Marlin and the action is as smooth as they have ever been. The Mar-Shield finish on the wood is not quite up to the old Marlin standard. I removed the front and rear sights and replaced them with a set of Williams fire-sights. At 63 the aperture rear and fiber optic front sights greatly improve my ability to stay with iron sights. I tried several brands of ammo, both lead and JHP and it fed everything very smoothly. I sighted in for at 50 yd shots which is where my rifle will see the most use on whitetail deer and I'll probably stay with Fiocchi 240gr. JHP ammo. I took one star off due to the wood finish, but honestly it has no ill effect on the performance of the rifle. Overall I'm very pleased with this rifle and of course, as always, with every transaction that I've ever made through Bud's.

Just purchased the Marlin 44 mag lever action. Great experience. Essy order process. Quick processing and shipment. Received the gun within 5 days of processing without a hitch. Beautiful gun. Wood was darker than expected, which was a pleasent surprise, if you like that dark rich look. Wood to frame fit is excellent. Can't wait to give it a good work out.

The first Marlin 1894 Buds sent was a Lemon, the action was jammed up and could not be operated with the lever. I called Buds immediately and didn't accept the rifle from my FFL DEALER and He talked to Buds and got it shipped back. It took almost 2 weeks to get a replacement but this one I looked over with a magnifying glass! It had a beautiful black walnut stock and fore grip and functioned flawlessly. I even brought some ammo to cycle through it to make sure it worked! If you ever get a firearm and it's not to your expectations or is scratched or something's wrong DONT ACCEPT THE FIREARM AND CALL BUDS, They Will Make it Right!

Love this rifle but be wary about what size projectile you use ! First 50 rounds of store bought (Freedom Arms) was giving me about 10" groups at 25ft. After getting proper sized slugs my reloads are as accurate as I can be. Just love lever actions but wish Marlin would change the rifling.

As always Buds gets 5 stars for their fast service and great pricing. I had one issue with this gun which marlin/remington has addressed and is correcting. The stock was broken on the upper portion at the grip and a piece of wood had caused a jam. They are replacing it. I told them if they sent me the new stock I could fix it. It is in route now after about a week. Other than that, the gun seems to be in good condition.

This rifle is just a sweetheart. Easy on the shoulder and ears as well as it has a very low report compared to a handgun. Accuracy seems to be just over an inch at 100 yards so far but haven't worked up any special loads for it yet. If you are hunting in brushy country or introducing someone new to shooting this would be a great choice.

Wonderful rifle accurate right out of the box. I have an older JM Marlin in 357 and I like this one just as well.

I recently purchased a Marlin 1894 in 44 magnum. I had read the online reviews on many different websites about the poor quality of these guns since Marlin was sold to Remington. I thought long and hard in choosing between the new Marlins and the Henry rifles. I finally decided on the Marlin and it turned out to be a great decision! The Marlin came with a dark walnut stock that was well fitted. The action was smooth and cycled cleanly. The gun shoots great and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I have old Marlins made before the sale to Remington and this new Marlin compares very well, if not better! I checked the serial number was able to tell that my gun was manufactured in 2016, well after the new company had time to work out the bugs in it's manufacture. Bud's Gunshop made the purchase easy and kept me informed through the entire sale.

Fast shipping. All I can say is that the rifle I recieved is one good looking Remlin. It also shoots tight groups. I will keep this one for a very long time.
