Kimber needs to do a better with quality control. Had to have the gun sent back to the factory twice with thumb safety problems. The first time the side broke the thumb safety off. The second time thumb safety keeps on engaging while shooting. The gun is very accurate but with this gun for personnel carrier and safety issues is not good.Buds did at great job with the order.

I picked up this Kimber 6-7 weeks ago from my FFL. The transaction through Buds went smoothly-even though I mailed in a check. The gun arrived in good condition, no blemishes. After an initial intensive cleaning and lubrication, and now about 350 rounds, I have not yet had a failure on a mix of PMC and Remington FMJ ammo, in either the supplied Kimber or my Wilson Combat magazines. One grip panel has started working loose. The finish is holding up. Felt recoil with the aluminum frame is noticeably higher than in a full size, steel frame Springfield. The factory trigger weight feels high.

Purchased a Kimber Super Carry Pro via a Bud's auction a little over a month ago. Took possession and within days went to my local English Pit range and put 210 rounds through my new (and only) Kimber. Was expecting to have a misfeed (jam) or something else as has been reported in the previous review and other internet reviews. My Kimber shot flawlessly. I was quite impressed with the pistol's performance. I'm not sure why I had zero problems and others experienced issues with their super carry pro. One thing might be the ammo. I did shoot new Remmington UMC 230 grain MC ammo (not sure what MC stands for but looks like FMJ ammo). Again, I had zero issues with my new Kimber shooting new high quality ammo (I know ammo quality is subjective in some cases but UMC has never caused me an issue). I would recommend the Kimber Super Carry Pro based on my first 210 rounds. P.S.: The Kimber is a little difficult to reassemble. Suggest you go on-line and watch one of the disassembly and reassembly videos that are out there in cyberspace.

First, Buds service was good with this purchase. Second, I would recommend that Buds stop selling this pistol as it is very poor quality/very unreliable. I just finished the 500 round break in period and am still having a lot of issues. There are frequent failures to feed (the slide stops about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from going closed). There are way too many instances where the pistol ejects spent cases into my face. Had several failures to eject on the first 300 rounds. The trigger pull is over 6 pounds, not the 4-5 pounds that Kimber advertises. The slide to frame fit is loose (can move the slide back and forth and touch the dust cover on both sides). The finish is already coming off around the ejection port. I did some research online and found out that this is a common problem for this pistol and that repeated trips to Kimber never got the issue resolved with other owners. I can't sell the pistol as is (Texas has a deceptive trade practices law and I could be sued for 3X if I did since I know about the problems). I called Kimber and was told that I needed to go to 800 rounds on the break in. If the pistol did not line out, they would call it back and work on it. I have already spent enough on ammo and will not continue wasting my money. This is a "Custom Shop" product and should not have had these issues coming out of the "Custom Shop". I talked to a couple of top IDPA shooters in Houston and was told that there is a really good 1911 smith in the Houston that may be able to fix the issue. I hate to spend more money on this pig but that is probably my best option. If I could get my money back, I would. If I could sue Kimber to get a refund or to pay someone else to fix the pistol, I would. I would very strongly recommend that you NOT purchase this pistol. My S&W M&P 45s are completely reliable and have been from day one and are just about as accurate. I could have purchased several more of those pistols for what I have in this pig. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PISTOL. Buds, please contact me if you can do anything about refunding my money on this pistol.

Beautiful Gun! Couldn't be happier. The gun can absolutely shoot better than I can.
