Girsan MC1911-G2 .45ACP 5" Black
by DAVID M Date Added: Monday 19 November, 2012
This is firearm is the basic 1911. Items that are close close to GI 1911A1 are the sights, thumb safety, slide release, arched mainspring housing, hammer, trigger and recessed areas on each side of the frame behind the trigger. The trigger is a stretch because it is solid but in between short and long. Trigger pull is good for a self defense side arm. The finish is the toughest I have seen and my FFL said it looks just like Cerakote. Slightly lowered, scalloped ejection port is should keep brass from hanging up. On the Buds video Tony Pignato shares some of his thoughts on the high quality internal parts, no MIM parts. The wood grips are some of the nicest quality and best feeling on a 1911. The slide to frame fit is tight with no rattles. Same goes for the cold hammer forged barrel, tight fit with a very smooth mirror like finish. I have owned quite a few different style 1911 models from so called higher end to GI issue. I decided to go back to the basic GI type models. The higher end ones with beavertail safety and extended this and that with a ultra tight fitting barrel are great for targets but maybe not so great for defense for various reasons. The Girsan has the GI type low style for combat, its easy to cock with the grip safety not interfering and nice small thumb safety. Watch the Buds video with Tony P. and when you receive yours and handle it you will see why in this incredible price range that a company can produce a high quality side arm such as this. This one is the best self defense 1911 I have ever owned, and I have owned many.
