TISAS Classic 1911-A1 45ACP 5" GI BLACK

Well since I have not fired the gun yet these comments will be my "first impressions". This thing is one hunk of iron. Weighs in at 2.6 pounds. I guess I'm used to a polymer frame. The tolerances are extremely tight. Very good fit and finish. No flaws in the finish whatsoever. The walnut grips are functional. The first thing I am going to do is look for some better grips. I disassembled the gun and you can really see the quality fit and finish in the parts. The only real complaint I have is the safety. It is easy to take the safety off with your thumb but almost impossible to set the safety with your thumb. Hard to push the safety up with your thumb. The trigger pull is excellent. Not too hard, not too soft on the pull. Nice Mec-Gar magazine. I don't have the largest hands and I found the mag release button a little far forward for quick releasing. The sites are nothing to right home about but they are functional. Would have liked the back site to have a bit deeper groove. The safety is for right hand shooters. Would have been nice if it had an ambidextrous safety. This is a great gun so don't let my nit-picking deter you from purchasing. Overall I cannot imagine where you would find a better quality 1911 for the price.
