TISAS Classic 1911-A1 45ACP 5" GI BLACK
by Alan S Date Added: Saturday 06 July, 2013
First off Buds is great never any major issues and they almost always have the best prices on firearms.... The Tisas 1911, do not hesitate to buy this pistol for this price point this is a great buy. The finish is better then most GI type pistols which are normally parkerized this pistol has a black finish similar to a melonite or black teflon. The trigger is pretty smooth in the 4.5lb range on mine, there is a little more travel on this then the higher end 1911's but that's to be expected but still very very good at this price point. Have no fear of hammer bite the hammer is not a full spur type it is similar to a commander style, its about 2/3rds the length of standard GI type hammers... I have put 150rds through it with no failures, 24rds of hollow points a mix of Hornady XTP 200gr and Speer Gold Dot 230gr, 126rds of Federal FMJ 230gr... I did have the feed ramp polished professionally because it was not polished but again most are not polished in the 400-500$ range, the barrel is throated for hollow point use so no worries there... I did use a variety of mags consisting of the factory mag which is a Mecgar (if not then Mecgar should sue for copyright) a Wilson ETM, a Chip McCormick Power Mag and Kimber Tac Pro which is actually made by Checkmate not Kimber... I did perform the Hilton Yam (10-8 Performance) extraction test, the pistol passed this test with flying colors all 16 rounds ejected in the 3-5 o'clock area and they were all positive ejections no dribble outs, this is a really good thing because there are higher priced pistols that cannot pass this test.. In my opinion this pistol exceeds the Rock Islands, High Standard and Auto Ordance in quality at this price level. Fear not the Tisas!
