TISAS Classic 1911-A1 45ACP 5" GI BLACK
by Samuel L Date Added: Saturday 13 July, 2013
Bought one of these from Bud's a few months ago, which was an amazingly easy, quick and professional transaction, from start to finish.

The pistol itself was a lot better quality than I had expected. Compared it with friend's ATI 1911-A1 and there was a definite quality difference in favor of the Tisas. While not Ed Brown spec fitting, it certainly is done well, with attention paid to critical areas. For the price, it seems you can't get much better.

I bought four Chip McCormick "Shooting Star" magazines, which function very well in the Tisas. I also have a few Mecgar 10 round magazines which fit, and function 100% in this pistol.

So far, I've put maybe 400 rounds through it, without a single issue of any kind (gun wise. Shooting Star magazines would usually get one FTF before they broke in. Now function 100%) I've mostly been shooting ball 230 grain, and it handles it very well.

Only issue that I have found, is where the grip safety meets the frame, the angle on the frame is a bit too high, and sharp, to where the safety meets. Some sanding, and I removed the sharp edge, and touched it up. Now it feels very nice.

All told, if you're looking for a quality 1911-A1 GI, this is certainly the best deal going out there now. Seems a good platform as well for upgrades if you'd like to go that route.
