Great ammo! Mild recoil. I use a cylinder choke and it patters extremely tight at 25 yds. Will definitely buy again!

Added these for some additional support with my Winchester. Haven’t been to the range with them yet.

Purchased with several other brands. By far the best grouping out of all. Using a maverick 88, for HD. Shot is low recoil, and it is very low. Was very impressed and just purchased 5 more boxes Very fast shipping, great communications.

The ammo I use in my Mossberg 590 A1 when I'm not shooting slugs. Feeds great and makes a great self defense round.

I like reduced-recoil buckshot loads because they allow me to make fast follow-up shots, but this particular round won’t cycle in my semi-auto Benelli M2. It’s probably great in a pump gun, but eight pellets at just 1100 fps isn’t enough to run the inertia-driven Benelli. These are the blue hull. I switched to the Hornady Light Magnum (red hull) and the gun runs like a scalded hound.

These rounds are consistent, accurate, and reliable!

Tightest Pattern 8-Pellet 00 Buckshot!! This is my go to for home defense when you want the tightest patterns and quickest followup shots in a 12ga. This specialized Law Enforcement 00 Buckshot features the VersaTite Wad, which provides patterns the size of a quarter at close range under 10 yards, but opens up to about a fist sized pattern out to 25 yards.. I recommend this load for pump action shotguns due to the very low recoil, some tactical semi-auto shotguns have super strong springs which the TAP Magnum is designed exclusively for use in.. I keep at least 3 of these Low Recoil specialized VersaTite wad 8- Pellet 00 Buckshot loads on my side saddle at all times.. If ever in an hostage situation with no slugs available, one of these in the chamber allows you to neutralize the threat without harming your loved one.. The VersaTite wad is what makes this Buckshot pattern super tight, but added with the low recoil version patterns are 1.0" - 2.0" smaller than the Full Power Magnum version, and remember the 8- Pellets are the absolute best without the very common single flyer pellet when using 9-Pellet Specialized 00 Buckshot loads!! Always pattern your barrel to make sure you know the exact maximum range this buckshot goes from a large single hole pattern to the first sized pattern at longer distance.. One of the best for faster follow up shots, low recoil for use by women, kids, or smaller framed males who can't handle the recoil of the full power magnum version.. For inside the home lethal engagement distances this will forever be my specialized and most preferred load, but for outside the home the full power magnum version extends the range to 35 - 40 yards with all pellets accounted for on target!! All 12ga Hornady TAP Buckshot with 00 Buckshot featuring the VersaTite Wad are leaps and bounds above the rest for Law Enforcement use..

Surprised I found this ammo, very hard to find. It’s good stuff though. Very consistent groupings and patterns. The low recoil is nice but maintains good ballistics. Super reliable feeding and Hornady has made it a very reliable cartridge, haven’t had a failure yet.

Tested some this afternoon. 3 to 4 inch spread at 15yds with a Mossberg 590, 20" barrel, cylinder bore, bead sight and a rather inexperienced shooter when it comes to shotguns. 25 yds was +/- 11" spread. For comparison, a different brand of 9 pellet, 00 buck, 2 3/4" had a 13 to 16" spread from the same gun at the same distance. Low recoil was a pleasure to shoot despite being a 12 gauge with 00. Definitely reasonable to think you'd have no trouble quickly coming back on target and sending out a well placed follow-up shot if needed. Definitely a better option for HD distances than slugs considering the amount of time you'd have to put into becoming proficient with slugs.

Good idea for home defense!!

Perfectly manageable recoil, holds a tight pattern within 10 yards, only really starts to spread out after 15 yards All in all, a fine load for duty or home defense. I don't have anything negative to say about it.

Because of the lockdown, haven't had a chance to go to the range and try these out. Will review them when I do. In the meantime, I bought these based on the recommendation of a couple of law enforcement and fellow NRA instructors. They probably would give them five stars. I can say that Buds delivered as promised. although other companies are not. Buds is a very good place to purchase what you need, be it firearms, ammo, etc.
