One of many guns I have bought from Bud's and as usual a very smooth transaction. I love the old school look of this gun with the wooden corncob fore end and raptor grip. I plan to use for back up home defense (I have a Mossberg 500 as the go to for that). I also like that I can put it in my car or truck for road trips, again just another option in case things get ugly. Beautiful gun, typical Mossberg quality and reliability. And a good price, too.

Can't practice with this enough. The wood gives it a old time look and feel. Not one misfeed in over 100 rounds. Johnny Winchester

I always wanted one of these and Buds once again had it for a great price. I have took this to the range twice. The first shot caught me off guard. It almost jumped out of my hand. After a while I was ripping of OO and slugs no problem. This firearm is probably not for eveyone but I am having a blast with this little girl. The wood furniture looks and feels great too.

The NightStick is as described. The vintage look of the wood stock and forearm is great. Shoots and handles very well. What’s expected from Mossberg firearms. They work!

This thing is an absolute blast, pun intended. This little “master key” will handle most locks, has a manageable recoil with proper shooter positioning, and it’s a joy to wield at the gun range.
It’s a novelty gun, that quickly turned into something I now have a purpose for. After realizing how much easier this is to handle I quickly adopted it as my anti-panther defense weapon. It’s virtually an updated Howdah.

To think of a shotgun that everyone should own, thats how I would summarize the Mossberg 590 Nightstick. A great addition to my shotguns. The wood finish is extremely smooth and the action is crisp. Overall, it's a beautiful shotgun.

Awesome and fun to shoot. Shoots well with Federal Premium LE 2 3/4 Buckshot. I didn't mind paying a little extra for the wood furniture...looks old school.

First firearm purchase from Buds. All done exactly like they promised. The Mossberg Night Stick (a shockwave with furniture ) is fantastic. I selected the warranty through Buds which seems like it is well worth the $20 for the duration of my ownership of the firearm. Am adding a crimson trace red laser saddle. Lots of fun in a compact package.

So far, so good. Looks nice, great design, ... but haven't been to the range with it to try it out. Would rate it at 5 Stars, if all its WOODEN FURNITURE would actually be WOOD !

Firearm arrived well packed. The wood really makes the gun stand out. I was surprised at how dirty this new firearm was. Took me a full hour to get the gunk, rust and stench out of the bore but it did clean up. The finish on the metal is less of a traditional blue and more of a bead blast finish similar to a Remington express. The gun is solid and balances well in the hands.

Purchased for home defence. I purchased an adapter to allow for smoother functioning with minishells. I installed a rail on top and a green laser. Location of the safety makes turning the laser on smooth. From the hip using the laser the minishells in buckshot are accurate and pattern well . I have purchased several guns from Bud's always a smooth transaction.

I've wanted a Shockwave since Mossberg came out with them. My only complaint was the synthetic stocks; I thought wood stocks would look much better, more old-school, something the Untouchables might use. Then they came out with the Nightstick. I got mine yesterday. Transactions with Bud's was as smooth and satisfactory as always. I got her home and, once the rain let up, took her out to the back pasture where my shooting range is and ran thirty rounds of Winchester 2 3/4" 00 buck through her. There were no problems or issues with functioning whatsoever. She's a compact 12 gauge, so she jumps, but recoil is nowhere near as bad as I expected. Back in the 1990s I had a pistol gripped Mossberg 500 and recoil on that thing was brutal. The forestock would jump out of my support hands completely and my right hand took the full brunt of the recoil while the grip angle greatly magnified muzzle flip. The strap on the forestock is needed and works very well. If I had my hand too far forward on it, the screws securing the strap to the stock would scrape by finger, but a slight adjustment on the grip solved that. The bird's head grip apparently works very well because I have absolutely no recollection of the recoil my shooting hand felt. After thirty rounds of buckshot, I felt perfectly fine, no strain or soreness at all, whereas the pistol gripped standard 500 left my shooting hand throbbing. As for aiming, for me this is a point shooter. I've seen people like Clint Smith holding it up high enough to use the bead sight. Maybe someday I'll be able to, but right now I have to hold it just below the level of my collarbone and point it at the target. I shot pumpkins at ten and twenty feet and my steel silhouette target at thirty feet. Once I got the technique dialed in it worked fine. So what's this thing good for? There's no question a shotgun with a shoulder stock is more practical, but the Nightstick isn't useless. It would work fine for home defense. It would have an advantage over a shoulder stocked gun for things like room-to-room searches or other situations where one would need a really compact gun. As I said, shooting it is much easier than I thought it would be. My wife and mother took one look at it and thought of James Caan's character Mississippi in the John Wayne movie El Dorado. It makes me want to put on a fedora and trench coat and go raid a speakeasy while honing my Sean Connery imitation (Do you want to know how to get Capone? Here's how you get Capone.). It would make a good home defense weapon and it's a lot of fun. I named mine Thumper.
