Mossberg 500 Cruiser 12g 20" 8rnd CB PG
by Thomas W Date Added: Wednesday 04 July, 2012
First off let me just say that the service and shipping speed from Buds was great just like always. The shotgun performed flawlessly. Shooting 7 ½ birdshot the recoil was minimal and was great to use while working on getting used to shooting from the hip. Without a stock on this shotgun aiming is a little tricky at first but you get used to it.

I own an H&R Pardner pump shotgun that was about 100 dollars cheaper than this one and after using both of them I HAVE to recommend spending the extra 100 dollars to get this Mossberg 500 Cruiser. This gun is far superior in how smoothly it operates and also this gun doesn’t seem to kick nearly as hard even without a stock. Breaking this down for a thorough cleaning was very easy. This gun just seems to be built solid and made to last. On the Pardner, you can see the cheap welds on the parts and feel the cheap plastic. With the Cruiser you can definitely feel and see the quality!

Now the size of the barrel is 20 inches. This is 1.5 inches longer than a lot of tactical shotguns. 1.5 inches longer might not sound like much in hindering maneuverability…. And it isn’t. Unless you are trying to man handle this thing while sitting in your car you won’t mind the 20 inch barrel as opposed to the 18.5 inch barrel. The longer tube allows you to hold 2 more rounds than most tactical shotguns as well which is a major bonus.

The only “problem” I have with this shotgun is that the fore-end is permanently attached to the action bars so replacing it won’t be easy. But this is a minor detail for such a nice weapon at such an awesome price. I ended up getting a recoil reducing stock with pistol grip to put on this because if you want to practice with 00 buckshot you will want your shoulder to help absorb some of the recoil
This product is very well deserving of all 5 stars!
