Hi-Point 34510 JHP45 9+1 45ACP +P 4.5"

I’ll just say that I am an amateur when it comes to firearms.  My first firearms purchase was in January of this year.  My rifle is great and I would not trade it for anything, but I wanted to obtain another gun.  My only handgun experience was limited to trying 3 different 9mm and one 44 magnum Desert Eagle.  I did not care for the 9mm pistols because to me they were too light and hard to say on target.  Maybe it’s a newbie thing.  However, I loved the Desert Eagle which made me want a heavy large caliber gun.  Honestly, I was not interested in spending over a thousand dollars for a gun.  Plus my wife would have been extremely upset.  I did some research on Hi Point guns and was surprised that they were 100% made in America.  I was attached to a company that manufactures a gun with all American parts and labor.  The price did not hurt either.  I read just about everything I could about the 45 JHP and I found that people either loved it or hated it.  From what I could tell, there seems to be a battle between hard core gun fanatics and open minded gun enthusiasts.  Since more reviews loved the gun than not, I decided that was good enough for me to try out.  Last night I took the gun to the range for the first time.  All I can say is that it was the best $170 I ever spent.  After I fired through the first magazine, I was a bit concerned because I was not too accurate.  However, I had to remember that my handgun experience was limited.  I relaxed and put several more magazines down range.  For the first time with any gun, I was able to put several rounds in the center of the target at 25 feet.  I am now sold on Hi Points.  65 rounds were put through the gun last night with no issues.  All I can say is that I am extremely happy with this gun.  The best part about being a newbie is that in my zest to learn, I don’t have any preconceived notions on what a gun should look like or the name stamped into the handle.  My Hi Point JHP 45acp is well balanced for me, accurate, reliable, and well priced.  What else could you ask for in a handgun?
