Great gun, but do have to admit I should not have got it in 6.8 SPC over .223 or Mini 30. Ammo is just way to expensive to go out plinking. I've had the gun for 2 or so years now and at .87 cents a round i can only add up the $$$ while I shoot. It's now been religated to my hunting rifle not the home defense/ plinker I imagined it to be. I know it's my fault for not taking the price of ammo in better considersation, but the rifle is great and very reliable.

Gun arrived in typical Ruger box with 2 scope rings, lock and a manual. It was clean with a light sheen of oil. At first I thought it had a cheap look and feel to it, but I guess all weather means synthetic and stainless steel. I took the rifle to a local range and it shot just like reviews I had read. After 40 rounds (SSA Sierra ) I started to hit what I was aiming at. 100 yard accuracy was dependant on my ability more than the guns. (Iron sights, no scope for awhile) I did not shoot over 100 yards being my first time to the range with this gun. It is a little pricey , but I'm glad I bought it.
