The service from Buds was great, a 5 star there. The first model 25 in 223 I ordered would not stay cocked, safety on or off.I called Savage and was told we all make mistakes. Send it back to us for repairs. I had not transferred the gun to me at the time. Called Buds and they sent a prepaid fedex order to pick it up at the ffl dealer. Then mailed a new model 25 in 223 rem. When the second rifle came in I wanted to get some base line data on the bore. I put the borescope in and found pitting and copper. I took pictures. The pitting was scattered but most about 12 inches up the bore. Most used bores will have some pitting, heat cracks and copper depending on the degree of cleaning I called Savage twice and the person i talked to was not very knowledgeable. I asked to talk to a supervisor, no luck and was told to clean barrel the usual way and a supervisor would call when they had time. I am still waiting 2 weeks or so later. The gun is shooting 1/2 to 3/4 inch. I have model 25 in 222 rem and it is a 1/4 and under. also have 2 other savage rifles Buds did what they should have done. Maybe they have more clout with Savage than i do. Buds rates 5, savage ?

This is a really sweet shootin' weapon. It feels good, works good, and fires good. There is virtually no recoil and it grouped really tight using generic Federal ammo. I would definitely buy one again. The bummer is I missed out on the $50 refund by one week. Murphy strikes again.
