FN FNAR .308 Win. 20" Light Fluted Barrel 20+1
by Stephen D Date Added: Sunday 06 January, 2013
This is a great gun. I got it right before the latest gun run (FIREARMAGEDDON Dec 2012) and paid just over $1K. I was actually looking at .308 bolt guns, but came across a nutnfancy review on youtube that made me choose the FNAR ( )

Some say this gun is fugly, but I like function over form any day. The action on this gun is SLICK! The barrel is awesome: fluted and with a protected crown. Stock options abound: there are 3 different comb heights and 3 different stock rake adjustments. The picatinny rail gives plenty of mounting space for optics. The additional three short rails on the sides and bottom offer even more mount options for laser sights, flashlights, or bi-pods. I put a Harris 9-13" bi-pod on it and kept the middle comb height. I also added a Leupold scope on a YHM riser with some Burris rings with 20 MOA cant insert and I can dial this thing in right on the money from 100 to 600 yards. For what it's worth I have not yet put 100 rounds through it, but it definitely is a better rifle than I am a marksman.

The only downside is that the case it ships in is too small to use once you mount an optic. Not a deal-killer for me since I already bought a Bone Collector case for it. I ended up using the FNH case for my Ruger Mini-30. All good.
