Citadel CIT45FSP 1911 Full Size 8+1 45ACP 5"
by Dave M Date Added: Thursday 15 August, 2013
This is my first 1911 after month's of doing research on every brand(on a budget of up to 600) I kept coming back between arms cor and Springfield.I own two xd's and love them to death(got rid of my Beretta's to buy these two),but upon all the reviews online and you tube the citadel was my choice.Arms cor has a decent reputation for handling repairs and i figured i could always sell the pistol and upgrade. When i got the box it was kind of shabby blow molded plastic but suitable for shipping and etc...The manual was very plain and the fact that this firearm came with two magazines, and that it was at the time a hundred fifty dollars cheaper than the Springfield GI sealed the deal. These guns come completely soaked in oil almost like the military rifles packed in cosmoline. So after i stripped it down and completely cleaned it up, I took it to the range and fired 150 rounds thru it.I had no ftf's no stove pipes ,nothing both magazines fed true and it ate everything from blazer to Remington to Aguila-you name it it shot it.After stripping it down and frog lubing the hell out of it,the action is like butter.I would Recommend this pistol to anyone on a budget who is just beginning the 1911 tradition.
