Really nice concept but the performance center needs to watch their QC. Action and timing are great. Wood grips are nice but pretty rough on your hands with 44 magnums. I replaced them with nice VZ grips. Unfortunately the barrel is slightly canted (not enough that I am going to send it in) and there were burrs and sharp edges on the gun. For being a performance center model I would expect top notch QC but that is not the case with the two performance center revolvers that I own.

Beautiful revolver in a very potent caliber

I was looking for a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan 2.5" or Ruger Redhawk 2.75". By accident I found a S&W M629 Performance Center 2.625" in stock at Bud's. Revolver is going to be used with Hornady Critical Defense 165gr. 44 Special loads only. Sale transaction was fast and flawless to my local dealer here in Tucson. Unfired as of yet but testing with a Range Rod shows perfect cylinder timing. Highly recommended.

Great little gun with a lot of recoil. After replacing the beautiful wood grips with hogues the recoil was much more manageable. Very accurate right out of the box. Great back packer type firearm and as a backup gun while hunting larger game. As always, Buds was great to deal with.

Very pleased, the 629 has a whip like no other, this thing is like a wild animal and the only way to tame it would be with some hogue grips, but I don’t believe I’ll be changing mine. I love the grips. And this pistol shoots very well. I would recommend a shooting glove, this 629 jumps harder than my 454 super red hawk alaskan. That being said, Buds was fast and flawless as always. Thanks.

This far exceeded my expectations...This is the best gun I’ve ever owned. I liked it so much I put the 627PC on Layaway.

Great weapon. I'm not a long range handgun shooter, so this particular model is great for home protection, personal protection and concealed carry. I would highly recommend it for all the mentioned purposes.

Beautiful gun, good action and trigger pull. But didn't notice on first inspection, barrel is not indexed properly. S& W is sending me prepaid ups tags.

I love this gun! It's not for the faint of heart and it lets you know you have a 44 mag in your hand. Quality firearm. I found the nice wood grips a tad to small for me but after a nice combat grip it's perfect for a long shooting session. If you want a very well made wheel gun this is a good one. But I love all smith and wesson guns.. well pleased

this is a great gun. I was originally looking at a Kimber 357 decided tot go with this and I made a good choice! this is an all around good gun

Great fast service, nice gun and case. Only problem is after 1 box of rounds the front sight came loose so I called Buds and was sent to SW for the lifetime warranty. SW is sending another sight to see if that fixes it, otherwise the gun will need to go back and be inspected to make sure its barrel is made to specs, hate to be without it for a month, but all costs covered, shipping etc...so will know soon.

Beautiful gun, in perfect condition. Buds shipped everything quickly and their communication was top notch. The 629PC is a beast of a handgun. I have shot everything under the Sun and this thing is a handful. S&W def. continues to make one outstanding revolver. Thank you Buds. P.S. Like most, I was worried about Smith's notoriously bad quality control, but I was worried for no reason. Every PC Smith in the FFL's shop was in great condition and mechanically sound. Looks like they're(S&W) getting their act together.

Buds was incredible as always . The reason for the low rating is i received the gun and after inspecting it the barrel was canted to the left so bad you could not get proper sight acquisition . So quite honestly for the money and it being a performance center gun , it should have never left S&W factory .

Great little 44 but stock grips hurt under recoil! Get the rubber grips to prevent blisters! I shoot reduced loads mostly and it very accurate :-)

i v'e noticed the bulk of reviews on this weapon we're on how fast the gun was delivered,and how good looking the gun is.but not on actual weapon performance. i took the time this fire this gun today before posting a comment. that being said.... i put 100 rounds of 240 grain LAX ammo down range at 40 yards today. tight groupings,factory sights set dead on.no issues what so ever,outside a numb thumb even wearing gloves. this baby packs a nice punch. Ok the gun looks sweet. trigger pull nice single and dual action. sights dead on. and yes once again BUDS pulled it off on price and delivery.

WOW! What a thing of beauty (if a handgun can be beautiful). I inspected this 44Mag very closely because of the negative reviews submitted by recent S&W buyers at Buds, and I was determined that I would send it back if I found any of the flaws noted in these reviews. Not nesseccary, this revolver is flawless. The satin finish is clean and blemish free, the lockup is tight, and the trigger in single action is crisp while double action is smooth but stiff and was expected in a new pistol. The revolver was clean right out of the box which has not been my experience with two other S&W pistols purchased in the last four months. All in all this was my third but not last my experience dealing with Bud's. Color me very happy with the whole process.....
