Awesome little concealed handgun for the price

Buds Great as usual. Excellent product I own this model in the full size 9mm will continue to buy Taurus products.

I'm a first time buyer from Buds. I own three Taurus pistols and was looking for a CCW.Buds was the best price by far . Most place have this listed about 30% higher in price. Order it on Saturday and took it to the range on Wednesday a quick wipe down and ran 150 around thru it with no FTE. :) nice grouping. Thank buds

So disapointed in this gun! Ive only had it a month and the last two times ive take shot it the slide completely flew off the frame and the spring broke and scratched the hell out of the slide. customer service with taurus is also terrible. total mistake buying this gun, never agin will i even consider buying another taurus!

I purchased it On a Wednesday received it on the next Tuesday. Shipping was fine. Thanks buds. Mine has the safety and decocker. Can not change the backstrap.like full size. Holds 11 and 15 +1 .will update after I shoot. Feels very good in hands and carry. Comes with hard case and the mag loader is a plus

I've been looking for a midsize 40 with a 3.5" or so barrel. Looking for a new carry gun, i've been looking at Bersa, Stoeger, and guns in the 400. to 500. price range. I own a few Taurus revolvers, a lever action but this is my first Taurus semi auto. Having read many reviews and seeing many people not very happy with the triggers i nearly ruled out Taurus, i'm now very glad i didn't. I liked the history of the 800 series gun being military inspired and designed, the gun has a lot of features, it was very accurate when shooting, it was very manageable. My only issue was that the large capacity magazine came unseated a couple times, i'm not sure why, i'm not overly concerned with that i'll give Taurus a call on that. Having worked in retail sales and management many years of my life i realized there are many reasons people buy what they want, i learned early on that smart buyers like to see the value in their purchase, not just that it was the best most expensive or the cheapest. I personally believe that Taurus has found a way to add a value to their products that not all manufacturers do or have the ability to do? Ambidextrous mag release, 12 round and 15 round magazines, strike two ability, ammo loader, very nice case with molded foam, nice trigger, and on and on. It is rather unbelievable that this quality of firearm was available for $272. plus my $20. fee. I can see a full size PT840 in the future, i'll likely still end up with a Bersa, and i really liked the feel of the Stoeger also, we'll see. I have also used Taurus for service in the past and always was very satisfied with the results. Thanks Buds and Taurus.

First gun I had Baught of off buds , really nice gun for the money no feed jams the only issue i had was after several recoils from shooting it I would find the mag would be loos like the mag release was pressed not sure if it was my fault or not had not had chance to shooting again but i would buy another one of thses thou very accurate right out of the box, buds shipped it fast as week after i paid for it

Really liking this gun. Although the compact model is not ambidextrous with safety or slide release, I prefer that - as there's nothing to catch for a CCW. Fit and finish was impressive. And gun arrived relatively clean. I've had the chance to fire a few hundred rounds and have not encountered any surprises. It's been very reliable in functionality. The only negative thing I've noticed is that shot groups are consistently lower than my site picture. But groupings are very tight (bar human error). All in all, a great little weapon. This gun has worked flawlessly since I received it. I've only put around 500 rounds through it, but I was surprised at the quality of the gun after hearing many negative reviews on taurus. The only complaint I have is that the grip is shorter than I thought it would be, but I should have handled the gun before purchase. Overall, I like the gun; however, if I had the chance, I would trade it for a full size of the same model.

This is the 3rd Taurus pistol that I now own. The first was the PT 809, Then I was happy with it I got the PT 845, just loved both and now I own the PT 840 compact and it is just as awesome I would highly recommend any of these that I own. The PT 840 compact just fits so good as my CCW.

I received this weapon the Taurus 840 Compact 40 cal. last week, I took it out of the case and check all the features of this little mightymite and things were clean the product was in presentation very satisfactory, and pleased my expectations of the firearm. 5 days later was the first opportunity to throw some rounds downrange, I sent about 100 rounds through this sweet little handgun. The sights are on the mark, the single/double action was a very nice feature in this compact Taurus 840. The pleasure of shooting this firearm was so much better than I had ever expected of this particular handgun. Slow fire was smooth and no failures whatsoever. The next test I put this weapon through was rough and rapid fire as fast as I could pull the easy trigger in double action mode, it outperformed my other weapons shooting that day. I would recommend this firearm as a carry weapon for any one who wishes the confidence of a 40 caliber handgun with a smaill to medium frame feel. This is a great gun!
