When I unboxed carbine was satisfied with condition. As has been reported It is stamped metal and polymer, and figured I got what I payed for. The owners manual was a disappointment but felt that I could and did go to U=Tube to find out how to field strip. Was totally surprised when I shot it as this thing was accurate beyond my expectations, and really fun to shoot. Highly recommend High point Carbines, Cost and Accuracy and Fun are off the charts
