I like the Cimarron single action revolvers and especially this Scout revolver. The bright nickel finish is flawless and the action is perfect--I've gotten lots of compliments on the beauty of this gun which duplicates the cavalry models issued to scouts who guided the troops through Indian territory. It has the same markings as original weapons carried by Custer's troops including the Ainesworth cartouche on the grip. This particular sample shoots to 6 o'clock point of aim at 25 yards and hit the 8 inch gong every time for me at that range. I have another Cavalry gun in blue and case finish and have had similar accuracy results out to 100 meters knocking down 5 of 6 iron pigs and have no doubt that this nickel plated Scout version would do as well. There are a lot of more modern style pistols that won't do nearly as well for accuracy. An expert on antiques told me an original Colt of this model would bring upwards of fifty thousand dollars--and I got this one for slightly over six hundred dollars.
