SIG SAUER M400 5.56 16" Flattop Carbine
by Anthony F Date Added: Friday 22 July, 2011
This firearm is not of the quality that I expected from Sig Sauer. When the rear takedown pin is removed the weapon has lots play between the forward pin eye on the receiver and the upper receiver. In any case if I would have been able to inspect the rifle at a gun shop I would have gone with the Rock River Arms for another $100.00 dollars. Once I replaced the stock forgrip with a quad rail and attached the Eotech it looks good and the iron sights are still functional. The ajustable rear is okay but of cheap quality, once I replace it with a Magpul all will be fine. Also the pistol grip is junk and must be replaced. It is crappy hard plastic and feels like it will fall right out of your hand. I will install a nice rubber coated grip and all should be fine. BTW Sig Sauer support is excellent, but I still say the RRA is a much better choice than the M400 by Sig. This was Sig's first impingement type true AR platform so I had to try it. I will let you guys know how the weapon performs in a later post. I am certian that it will not dissapoint in that regard.
