Bought this for my gf for Christmas. She has tiny hands and wasn't able to reach the slide release on the most compact of autos. Decided to give this one a try and we were both very pleased. Plus she likes the simplicity of the revolver. We put about 100 rounds through it today (Christmas), and she loves it! Buds is my "go-to" from now on!

Great little gun! Super light. Took it to the ranch just to see how it feels. Shot 15 shots at 30 feet. First five - 47 out of 50. Great grouping, not much of a kick for the light gun. Better than expected. Highly recommend!

Got this revolver this weekend. Wasn't expecting as good a quality as I received. Very smooth trigger, I would guess around 3 lbs on single action, and very little creep on double action and not a heavy pull for double. Tight lock up and although I'm not a great shot and a 1911 guy I was surprised at how accurate I was around 20 feet and that is what I got it for. And as always Buds cleared my check and I had my gun very quickly.

Got this gun from my FFL after fast shipping from Buds. Went to range with it, shoots well for a 2" barrel no issues with gun or Buds a good deal on a easy carry gun. I like the all black on the gun it doesn't show when its dirty. The grip is more comfortable than I thought it would be.

Love the Taurus Ultra-Lite 38 sp. And so glad Bud's Gun Shop had layaway for us working stiffs who need such thing in order to be a gun owner.

I already had a 38 Special, but the last time I went to the range with it, my shoulder was killing me the next day. After looking on Bud's website, I found the Taurus Lightweight 38 Special + p2. This gun is awesome. Spot on sights, blew through 100 rounds in no time and without any problems. This gun really is light weight and being a girl, it is perfect for me. I would recommend this 38 SP to any guy or girl. I can holster this one without having to worry about it making my pants sag. I always had to carry the heavy 38 in a crossbody bag. As a girl that was a problem. I have a bag to match every outfit now. So once again Bud's had taken good care of me and this gun is everything it is advertised to be.

Picked up one of these after a positive experience with the recent purchase of a M605. The Ultralight was very tight out of the box. The action was a little "clunky" but I am used to Taurus Revolvers and what I do prior to taking them out and shooting them is fill the internals with (Balistol what I use as a lubricant) get some snap caps and dry fire it watching TV for about a week LOL. After a while clean it out with pressurized air and do it again. After a few thousand or so trigger pulls is starts to smooth out real nice. Works the action in since the internals are MIM parts. I still need to shoot it but the action is now smooth. I tested the tolerances which are very tight (nice job Taurus) and the timing seems fine. I also swapped on the old boot grips and it just melts in the pocket. Carries very well. Right now it gets dinged one star due to the finish. This is NOT a Parkerized finish, not even close. It is cold black oxide. Simply cold bluing. You will need to make sure to oil this gun and keep it away from moisture at least the steel parts, or wipe it down often. It is still a high value firearm considering the price but keep this in mind if you buy one. I will update this review after shooting it to report on reliability.

Great product for the price. Cylinder locks up very tight. The finish is similar to Parkerizing which I like. This model has the new grips which are much better than the older grips.

GREAT CCW (call me old school, I'll take a snubbie over an autoloader), this revolver is tiny and definitely light weight. As soon as I can verify that Bud's has exhausted their supply of 85 ULs with the old style grip (and they only have the new grip in stock) I will be buying another. Fit, finish, trigger and especially price......all top notch! There sure are a lot of "Taurus bashers" out there, many of whom, I believe, have never even handled a Taurus- very unfortunate. If you're in the market for a snubbie, check this one out!

Excellent short barreled revolver. Fairly accurate at 25 yards and no problems at the 7 yard "confrontation" length. Good quality workmanship. Large rubber handles good for easy shooting but need deeper pockets than other type snub nosed revolvers due to the larger grips.

First impression was the gun looks great, I really like the finish and the hogue grips fit nicely into my hand and my wife's. The trigger pull is not consistent and almost feels clunky as the cylinder rotates and comes to an end then you have more pull until the hammer drops. After taking the gun to the range I was not so happy. I was using the only 38 ammo I could find here which was a federal brand and the gun would lock up after every 4 to 7 rounds. When it jammed up the cylinder would not rotate and you could not depress the trigger. Only method of fixing this was to rotate the cylinder back to the left or release the cylinder. I sent it back to Taurus and they were very helpful they sent a fedex label and off went the gun. I was told it would be 4-6 weeks but the gun returned in under 2 weeks. The paperwork that came with it said it had undersized head space, and something about undersized nose cone. After receiving the gun back the trigger pull is better but still a bit inconsistent. Overall its not a bad gun for the money, the single action is very crisp as with most guns and I like the fit. Shooting it is a breeze very little recoil and accurate for a 2'' barrel.
