CZ-USA 91130 CZ 75 BD 16+1 9mm 4.6"
by Jeffrey C Date Added: Monday 17 June, 2013
Received the gun 4 days ago and have put 150 rds of mixed handloads through it with no Failures. I would normally wait until the gun was broken-in to review but it isn’t necessary with this CZ. The gun arrived fairly clean and after stripping it down I was impressed with the workmanship. I have read that CZ machine-cycles their pistols after assembly and this seems true. The frame and slide rails appear to have had several hundred rounds across them showing bright metal. The slide action is Very smooth out of the box.

CZ doesn’t cycle the trigger though. I dry-fired the gun about 300 times and the trigger now is coming in. Double-Action pull is smoothing out and has a workable pull weight of about 8-9 lbs. The single action pull is smoothing out at about 5 lbs but has noticeable travel (creep) to a sharp break. You will not mistake this for a 1911. A trigger job may be in the future but for now I am going to shoot the gun as is.

The finish is fashionable ‘tactical-cool’ matt black polycoat. There is no fashionable ‘tactical-cool’ rail to hang fashionable ‘tactical-cool’ do-dads off of which for me is a selling point. I prefer unfashionable ‘tactical-cool’-free guns.

I don’t care for any 3-dot sights but the people who do like them will be satisfied with the sights supplied with the gun.

The CZ 75 has a reputation for accuracy and this pistol lives up to it. Haven’t shot it off sand bags yet but off-hand; after getting adjusted to the trigger action, figuring out the grip, and the sights, it shot very well for me about 2” groups at 15 yrds. Sights were dead on windage and trifle high elevation. More practice and tweaking the gun a bit should improve the groups. Like I said going to shoot the gun more before doing anything else with it.
CZ makes quality guns and this one was an example.
