Are you kidding me? I bought this rifle for $762.87, after Savage's $100 mail in rebate! Picked it up at my friendly local FFL, inspected it and everything was as it should be. So far I have bought 2 pistols and 2 rifles through Buds, with zero complaints or issues of any kind with either Buds, the purchases or the delivery process and got the best prices. As for this Savage BA10 308, loving it with zero regret. Been wanting a 308 bolt action and had been looking around for a couple months, this popped up for sale, on sale and I just couldn't resist, clicked buy in about 3 wide eyed blinks and 1 minute of scratching my head to see if it was for real and a new in the box item, it was a for sure good deal I bought it dang near instantly.
When I got the rifle home I ordered then installed a Precision Armament A04-012 M41 MUZZLE BRAKE 7.62MM, Vortex Optics Precision Matched Rings 30mm - Height 0.87 inches - Picatinny Mount, Vortex Optics Defender Flip Cap Set - Eyepiece E-10 (41.5-46mm) & Objective Lens Cover O-50 (55-59 mm)and Vortex Optics Viper Riflescope 50 mm Sunshade. The Vortex Viper VPR-M-06MD 6.5x20x50 PA scope I already had on hand.
Took it to the range and spent the time it took to adjust the stock, scope and all to fit me. Shooting from a wobbly wooden bench at 100 yards, using a couple of lousy ill-fitting sandbags under the stock, holding steady was a little challenging with a crappy bench and getting used to and finding the right stock/scope eye relief adjustment and focus. The final group results, after zeroing and fitting the scope/stock for me, was 1.1MOA but that was me being bad at steadying the butt on the sandbags slipping around on me. The rifle was trying to give me half MOA, as there are basically 3 groups, the 1st two shots and then the 2nd two and 3rd; but I was fighting the sandbags slipping around under my stock. In short, I am pleased and expecting next range trip to get my sub half MOA groups, then take it out to 200 and 300 yards.
Here is a picture of the setup and first shots at 100 yards as I fought with my unsteady stock bracing. Basically I had to keep shoving the bags under the stock as they slid off the bench to the ground after the 1st 2 shots, which the first 2 were the shots at the center of the target. The following 3 shots were after I put the sand bags back on the bench and started again, fighting them and losing my indexing and moving the bag under the stock a 3rd time. Anyway, more range time and work on my control, the rifle will deliver no doubt. Just have to do my part.

Extremely pleased with this rifle so far.
Although you have to move the cheek rest out of the way, it was an easy boresight after scope was mounted. First three rounds at 50yds were a little larger than a single ragged hole. Took it to 100yds with the Berger Ammunition, half MOA out the box with 168gr Berger ammo (classic hunter bullets). Trigger is exceptionally light and crisp; ~2lb pull without adjustment. The best accutrigger I've had on a Savage so far.
Very comfortable to shoot. Despite some reviews, I've found the cheek riser to be comfortable and to hold position. If you have a scope with a short eye relief, then you may want the cheek riser to be a little longer. You can shorten the LOP to get closer to the scope without your cheek being on the leading edge of the riser. I'd say this is a scope issue instead of a negative on the rifle.
What I'd like to see change is the sling arrangement. Sling stud up front does not swivel. QD cup on rear means you need to get a sling that doesn't have the sling swivels sewn on so you can replace one with a QD cup sling mount. Another option would be to place an MLOK QD cup on the fore end and get a sling with two QD cup swivels. That may actually be better because it helps relieve my only other issue; shooting from bags. For me, I had to be careful to keep the fore end sling stud off the bag as well as the magazine. Failure to do so would affect accuracy when the mag/stud hit the rest. Placing an mlok QD on the side would make for an easier carry, allow removal of the forward stud and give greater flexibility with bags.
My particular rifle preferred 168gr over 150gr bullets but your mileage may vary.
Great experience with Buds Gun Shop. Matched price and fast shipping!

Excellent workmanship...Great trigger.
Fit and finish superb...outstanding accuracy... 5 shots @100yds covered by a dime with 168gr Match Kings and my handloads!
More expensive competitors eat your heart out! Savage does just as well and doesn't break the bank!
Kudos to Savage Arms!

Savage Stealth 308 Winchester is one AWESOME RIFLE purchased after shooting the savage 110 tactical in 308, I like the blueprinted action and it does not disappoint, shoots at 50 yards almost always thru the same hole or just outside the original hole, had thought the 5R rifling has alot to do with these results and always used handloads no factory ammo has been tried yet , it does love hornady bthp in 168 grains, also looks to be a great hot ticket item as just rechecked the price and even at buds discount it goes for $883.00 which is $83.00 more than it cost when purchased , if your on the fence buy, it shoots right out of the box , thank-you buds and savage for one great rifle 9/18/2019.

I saw this nice little precision rifle in a gun shop and added it my wish list. Saw Buds had a good price on it, plus savage ran a rebate on it, and pulled the trigger n bought one in .308 cal. I liked the Ruger Precision Rifle, but felt like I was looking down the barrel funny when I shoulder it. This 10BA Stealth feels like I can get behind it better. Also like the Drake chassis. Put a Pressision Armament M11 muzzle brake on it using their Accu Washer Kit, for correct indexing of the brake. Will purchase a Vortex Viper Scope next, so I can go shooting when the weather warms up. Paid by echeck so I got the Buds cash discount price. Once everything cleared, Buds shipped it to my local FFL with no problems n tracking number. Thanks Buds for everything, great service

The rifle has to be one of the best buys of the year, Barrel is very top shelf and one of the best you can buy. The trigger is WOW from the factory , you cannot get better. The rifle over all is just one great buy . I have some other 308 s that are a lot more expensive and are not as accurate . Let alone more fun to shoot. It is just one great rifle for the money. Thanks Buds. Marshall

Buds was a pleasure to do business with. I needed help with Savage with their rebate. Call Buds and the gentleman said he would contact Savage and call me back. I got a return call from Buds and the problem was solved. When it comes to the rifle just google Savage 10BA Steath rifle reviews and you will get comprehensive reviews on the rifle. Just remember it's a Savage with a Savage barrel. Have several all shoot straight.

Lord have mercy! I believe the good Lord himself sits on the throne with the crosshairs on his Savage 10BA Stealth aimed on the devils forehead. I lifted the box to open it and a full grown American bald eagle wearing a full denim sleeveless jacket flew from the innards of the box and perched himself upon my left shoulder. I lifted the rifle out of the box and heard the voice of Uncle Sam himself telling me to go forth to secure and defend my beloved land from the tyranny of terrorism and roaming zombies with my stealth. This gun shoots straighter than the path to the heavens of the most high God, where after a little research, I found out that this rifle is indeed manufactured there. After about twenty rounds, I went home to shower and realized that somehow this gun tattooed a bruise on my shoulder that perfectly resembled the American flag. I pray that its permanent. Buy this gun, you wont regret it.

First of all, I want to start by saying that nobody, but nobody I checked could beat Bud's price. Plus free shipping? Such a deal. OK, on to my experience using the Savage Stealth for the first time last weekend. I added a bipod and muzzle brake to make the rifle better to shoot, and what a difference they made. The factory threaded barrel made this addition very easy, even for someone with limited mechanical skills. The rifle is heavy so you really don't want to lug it around for long distances. There is no rear attachment point to add a sling to help carry it into the field, but there may be one available in the aftermarket. The rifle at the range was very stable because of the weight (in this case the weight is a positive) and the muzzle brake. Almost no recoil to speak of or muzzle rise. My suggestion is that a shooter needs to add this device to make this rifle a complete package. Ruger adds it to their Precision rifle from the factory and Savage should consider doing likewise. The stock has a lot of length and cheek-piece adjustments so a shooter should find an adjustment that fits them without too much trouble. Using the factory instructions as well as viewing YouTube videos, I was able to adjust the trigger weight to my personal preferences. My only gripe is I don't like the two piece trigger that comes with the Savage. It just does not feel right to my finger, and I may decide to do a trigger job and add an aftermarket trigger. Again, online instructions and YouTube videos indicate that it would not be too difficult a transplant. Right now I am in the process of using different loads and bullet weights to determine what my rifle "likes" the best for the most accuracy. This a process every shooter needs to go through since each rifle is unique, and it is a process that requires trial and error. Then again, that is why I like to go to the range in the first place. Bottom line, I like the Savage Stealth in .308 and plan to spend a lot of time at my range enjoying target practice. It is a good value, but in my opinion may need a little bit of tweaking to be truly outstanding.

Gun shoots as good as my shilen barreled savages and that is impressive to me. .25-.500 5 shot groups at 100. Hit 100% on steel from 500 to 800 yards. I'm sure at 1000 yards it would do great too but without any moa built into the base I ran out of adjustment with my vortex viper, I would have had plenty with a base.

The rifle shot well at the range, but I noticed all the problems the first time I cleaned it. I took a closer look at the bore after I couldn't push a nylon brush thru it. The barrel was extremely pitted and had really deep machining marks in the rifling grooves - almost like they forgot the ream the bore after drilling. I sent it back to Savage. They finally returned it to me after a month! The barrel was not replaced. It looks like they just heavily lapped the barrel to remove some rust (it's still rusted) and now I have a worn bore I still can barely push a brush thru. Very poor quality product and customer service from Savage.

I am very pleased with the quality of this rifle. Finally got to dial it in at the range and both my wife and I had no problem getting sub_moa groups using 168gr HPBT. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Got my Stealth and I am very happy with it. I have sighted at 50 yards and with two shooters and maybe 15 shots; one ragged hole and a couple of outliers but truly amazing accuracy out of the box. I installed Nikon p-308 3x12 with Nikon shade an old Harris Bipod and talk about tacticool! Just a couple caveats: Action is a little notchy pulling the round out of the magazine, but the forums say that this loosens up over time or can be remedied with a new mag. The EGW Picatinny rail that comes standard and mounted is 0 MOA and while that is easily changed it makes you wonder why? Plus, the standard 20 MOA EGW rails come with screws that will not fit this Savage. My understanding is that you need to use the stock screws from the Savage on the new 20 MOA rail and drill the rail out to make them fit. EGW will do the drilling for 10 more bucks. All said and done I would buy this firearm again. I think it is my favorite in my collection already, maybe.

This savage ba10 is everything i hoped it would be! Working with Buds was smooth and easy. The layaway plan made it possible to purchase the rifle i have been wanting for a year. I read some negative reviews and realized that the negatives always came from people not reading the conditions of the purchase....and that is stupidity on the part of the complainer! Buds shipped my purchace on the monday after i finished paying on a saturday! Your great price also made this gun purchase possible! Thanks Buds Loved doing business with a company that does what they say they will do! Scott Kingsland Tx.

Gun is beautiful, action is smooth, fantastic trigger pull, and the chassis is great! The only thing I see myself changing out is the Stock, but much rather they use a lower price stock to keep the price point down. Looking forward to many fun days ahead!

FAST, FAST AND FAST!!!! The beast was at my FFL within 3 days in mint condition. This rifle so far is great. I have fired 75 rounds so far and my worst grouping at 100 yards is 3.5" 5 shot group.....OFF HAND! from a supported position like sand bags or prone with bipod and sand sock it shoots .85" 5 shot groups with 168gr berger VLD Hunter over 41.5gr IMR4895 @2.8 COL. not the fastest load at around 2500 fps +/- but it is accurate for me. the adjustablee stock is nice. the butt pad is toothy and you'll notice it if you pull it in. the pistol grip is nice. you can handle it like a M4 if you choose. she is a heavy girl especially with a loaded mag, scoped and with a 22oz can on the end. she is well worth the money. p.s. I out shot my buddy and his AMAZING RUGER PRECISION

I'm beyond happy with the rifle. Fit and finish is outstanding. I don't reload so I've only shot factory ammo through this rifle, but so far of the 4 brands and weights I've used I'm getting the best groups from Federal 168gr Sierra Matchking. I'm waiting on some Hornady Amax to try. Buds had the best price on this rifle by far, but shipping was extremely slow. The rifle was paid for on the 2nd and was not received by my FFL till the 14th. With the speed of electronic funds transfers there is no excuse for the 10 day delay in shipping.

Absolute tack driver, loves 168gr Sierra Matchkings and puts 5 shots in a ragged hole at 100 yards. I topped mine with a Leupold MK4 and it performs amazingly well. Bolt isn't buttery smooth but manageable. One additional point, this rifle accepts the Magpul AICS pattern magazines. As always Buds was quick to ship and everything looked great.
