I really wanted to love this one. The fit and finish are nice. The controls are easy to operate. But, light firing pin strikes caused problems. Sent it back to Chiappa for a rework. So far so good. And, I can only praise their customer service - which deserves 5 stars.

This is a great backpack, survival weapon for small game and maybe water fowl. Great gun, and Buds shipping is the best

No a bad little gun, quality is ok, finish is ok...action works hard...accurate. Its functional but not an old Savage.

Very pretty! Although there were a few noticeable issues. First the lever used to break the rifle down, or open it, is a little hard to use. It just doesn't feel natural. You have to use more force than I like to open the barrel. The rifle is very heavy. I know you can read how heavy the firearm is, but for such a small gun it feels almost like a rock. Being it's a single shot you could get very tired after going to the range and shooting for an hour.

This is a fun combo gun for plinking or small game hunting and would probably make a good introductory gun for a child. The fiber optic ghost ring sights are superb and provide the fastest target acquisition I've experienced. It is a little heavy for a folding pack rifle though. Also since I use the 22lr mostly, when I fire the 410 I tend to pull the wrong trigger and repeated dry fires have caused ejection issues. But that's user error and not a knock on the gun, just something to be aware of. Overall its a neat novelty gun.

My 7 year old likes shooting this plinker and the break is easy to operate.

Buds service outstanding. The badger good gun, haven't shot the gun but once,but did well.

All went fine with purchase, received gun as promised but break lever and trigger were only about 1/3 bleed. I was sent rma and pre paid shipping label. Now waiting. Screw holding barrel to breach was to tight, would not open to access chamber, loosened all fine. Wood stock finish very nice.

I recently purchased this gun, and have used it squirrel hunting, and a few target shooting trips, it is very accurate and works flawlessly.

Beautifully checkered and well balanced. Shoots straight.

BUDS ROCKS and the gun is great. No problems breaking open. You just have to use a little muscle. It is not made to break open in a "lever action" with your fingers. Instead flip it over tuck the stock under your arm and use the palm your hand as intended. Gun was clean out of the box (a little oil to clean up) and ready to shoot. Ran 25 .410 PDX1 and 20 .22lr super x flawlessly. Great gun from a great gun shop.

Great gun....break open functions well, you just got to know what your doing, and the functions of the gun......BUDS IS STILL THE BEST!!!

This product is exactly what was advertised. The action is really difficult to operate and can be somewhat dangerous since it will only open in the "fire" position...even when loaded and the barrel is pointing towards the ground in front of you. Keep you legs well back when operating the action to prevent getting accidently shot in that leg !It shoots well and I am satisfied with it.

found the gun a little difficult to break open. hope it loosens up with use. But still an awesome buy and always fast service from buds !!

I purchased a Chiappa double badger which I received on 22 September 2014. I first fired it, approx. 50 rounds, on 24 Sept. It was difficult to open the action but I thought it would get easier with use. I fired another 30 rounds the next day, and by that time the action could only be opened with considerable difficultly. I requested and received a return authorization from Chiappa. They signed for receipt of the firearm on 1 Oct. 2014. As of this morning (17 Dec. 2014), they have not attempted any repair, nor offered a replacement or refund.

Ok so I purchased this firearm for my son when he gets older, however after field testing it to I might have to order my own. The double badger folds up really nice and was able to easily fit in my backpack and folding is very easy by using the trigger guard/ lever. The sights are fiber optic so my eyes were greatful when shooting it in low light conditions today, the rear is peep sight style with green fiber optics which I love. When I first opened the box the rear sight was all the way down and this is how you want to shoot the .410 I shot a very nice group hitting a crow target at 20 yards with 3'' mag win. slugs. With the rear sight all the way down it still shot a little bit high at point of aim but it is easy to adjust and shoot rather accurately. Did not try any shot patterning yet but will soon. The .22lr shot very well as well with the front sight up about 1/5 of an inch. I love shooting shorts out of this rifle, very quiet !! And .22lr shot a decent group at 20 yards but I still need to get use to the peep sights. By the end of the day I would feel confident hunting small game with the .22lr and shorts, and larger game with mag slugs in the .410. I took a chance on this rifle combo and I am very glad that I did.

Chiappa Double Badger. I have not gone to the range with it yet. Out of the box the fit and finish I was very pleased and Buds is great to deal with. I had a questions that I did not get out of the manual like the choke bore. I emailed Chiappa and got a quick reply. Its a nice little gun I bought for My Grand son to learn to shoot in the future. He will be born this summer. I guess I an getting a head of the game a bit.
