I bought this as a gift for my wife. She loves it. I will be purchasing another for my son soon.

Smith &Wesson has been reliable for me no matter what ammo I throw in them. This .22 is no different. It consistently performs well and keeps going. Takedown is almost sinfully easy. I sometimes edc it with hps just to go a little lighter. You won't be disappointed.

Took it to the range for the first time and was only able to fire 3 rounds out of 4 magazines. Tried multiple brands of ammo with same exact result. Going to try to send it back to Smith and Wesson, hopefully it'll get resolved. Buds transaction and shipping was great but the quality of the gun was crap. Giv8ng it 2 stars instead of 1 in hopes the Smith and Wesson will make it right.

Perfect gun for a woman, my wife takes her Smith & Wesson M&P to the range with confidence that she will shoot tight groups at random targets without having the recoil of a larger caliber.

Gotta my hand great and is a blast to shoot. The lack of recoil really enables me to focus on my fundamentals while shooting. The takedown for cleaning is also easy and convenient.

Fun beginner gun for plinking and training

Sweet pistol for 22lr feels good in your hand. Also a good suppressor host. Would recommend time and time again this gun to anyone that was a high quality 22lr pistol.

I love this gun!!! It is so light and easy to conceal. My only complaint is that the firing pin comes out.

Wife loves it. She has bad arthritis in her hands, but this pistol does well for her.

This thing is so easy to take apart for cleaning that I thought I had broken it. Basically fell apart in my hands. Once assemble - is a sold gun.

Eats bulk ammo, great plinker. The barrel from the factory had a gap between the chamber and where the rifling started. This was common issue they had with some of the early pistols. I am thinking about sending it back for repair. Great pistol for teaching a new shooter on how to shoot an automatic.

S & W hit a homerun with this .22 copy of their M&P 1.0 9mm. My wife uses this pistol in .22 and 9mm. The .22 gives her the opportunity to practice with little recoil, get used to the shooting again, use "cheaper" ammo, and then transition to the 9mm. These M&P .22's (full size and compact) are the reason I made the decision to go with the M&P 9's. If there is ever a burp, it is always the ammo. GET ONE OF THESE.

Great little 22. My only issue is that the threaded barrel protector can’t be removed without a ton of effort.

Great gun, dealing with Buds is always a treat! gun shoots just about all ammo no problems. Light weight, compact and easy to load & rack. would be great for some one getting started or an experienced shooter on a budjet that likes to shoot allot. .

This is a good little training/plinking gun. I bought it to use for training and kept it until the G44 came along. It had a bit of a quality control issue from S&W so I had to send it back for repair. They were good about it and it was fine since, but I have never had to do that with any of my non-S&W guns, so I can't give it full marks.

Great little beginner gun. Still have it and will not sell it.

The M&P 22 Compact is a pleasure to shoot. It's also a good pistol to train with. The service from Buds was great as always!

I use this for inexpensive training. I have a S&W Shield, an M&P, and an M&P compact. The manual of arms is similar and although the size doesn't match them perfectly, it is good enough to practice with rimfire instead of hard-to-get and expensive 9mm ammo. I also installed a threaded barrel and use a suppressor on occasion for pest removal. Trigger is mushy, but that's the only complaint I have.

This is a fun gun to shoot. Can’t go wrong if you want a simple easy 22.

Fun little .22 I shoot it as much or more than any of my bigger caliber pistols especially with the price of ammo. Functioned well from the start not a ton of hang ups and none I can’t possibly blame on faulty ammo but that happens with a .22, real basic too strip down and clean as well.

I wanted a small carry .22 rather than the large popular range pistols and this seemed a perfect choice. It's small. lightweight, and accurate at least for the first 30 rounds. At that point, the internal mechanism failed to release the internal hammer. Dead in the water. The pistol went back to S&W and it will be properly repaired I'm sure. I'm still excited about this small semi and glad I bought it. It has an excellent trigger, as do all S&W internal hammer guns.
