Very pleased with this pistol. I wanted an American made 1911 A1 and it fit the bill. I have only fired 100 rounds through it but it worked fine. It does come covered some kind of protectant. Don't know if it was oil or what. I did clean it and liberally oiled it. I did work the slide a couple of hundred times before taking it to shoot. Initially the slide action was gritty even after my cleaning and oiling. But that is smoothing out. The trigger is heavy, but it breaks crisply had a firm wall. The trigger was also gritty but that is smoothing out and the pull seemed to lighten up as well.

Look it's a $500 1911, not a Wilson Combat so the stiff trigger is the way it is. It was very accurate when I learned the POA and trigger. Would recommend.
