tolerances so tight it was difficult to assemble. once it was together it was so difficult to open and close my kids couldn't manage it. ive never seen another gun nearly this tight, except the other CZ I bought the same day

O/U is good for the price. Needed an entry level shotgun to shoot some skeet and this fits the bill just fine. Locks up tight and no slop. Ejector/Extractor works very nice. The only other shotguns in this price range were mostly field guns and I think the CZ is far above the others. This shotgun is made by Huglu for CZ and the craftsmanship definitely meets what you would expect from CZ. I have put about 75 rounds through it now and it is a very accurate gun. The eye picks up the rib and bead nicely for skeet and trap. The only negative thing I can say is that the wood does not have a nice finish. Needs a lot of oil hand rubbing to get it to look good. As always Buds was great to deal with.

This O/U fits in a strange place between high-end field and trap O/U's costing much more with factory engraving and stocks made from the best blanks, and basic field O/U's costing much less. There aren't many options in this range to compare to. The grain on the stock is beautiful, and the checkering of both the stock and handguard are nice and crisp, but the wood is unfinished and could desperately use some oil and a good polish. The bead and top rib track easily when shouldered, and the ergonomics are right. The single mechanical trigger is fairly crisp, and not too heavy, but a bit long on pull. The action and lockup is tight. It's not sloppy at all, like a cheaper O/U might be, but not nearly as smooth as a higher-end model that might have been hand-fitted with more expertise. The shotgun is light, making it ideal for field work, but it doesn't feel quite as solid as a higher end shotgun of the same weight from Beretta or Browning. The engraving is attractive and well-done, and by hand, but doesn't have the clean finish of a higher-end hand-polished engraving job, and tends to snag at cloth and case foam. If you're looking for a solid field gun that's nice to look at and you can take to the clays course and get a couple compliments, but don't want to drop over $2k, this is just about your only option, and it gets you about as far as you'd expect for the price. As long as you set your expectations (you're buying a _$1k gun, not a _$2k gun), I think you'd be pleased. I certainly am. Giving the stock some TLC could get this relatively cheap shotgun looking much closer to a fine heirloom piece.
