It will be a good self defense ammo there is not a lot of choice in good ammo for the AK most is FMJ or steel core and will over penetrate and pose a threat to persons behind your intended target this soft point ammo is designed to deform after hitting you target making a bigger wound channel and not over penetrating hollow points would be better but they are hard to find and expensive
