  • I was looking for a beaver tail, adjustable trigger and enhanced hammer for my Springfield GI 1911. Can I purchase this and switch out parts? That way for a little more money I would have an extra 22 pistol..

  • 1st let me say I have a GSG 1911 and it is a good 22lr but to swap parts from one 1911to another will be very hit or miss depending on how much was removed during the fitting process the parts may or may not work most aftermarket parts are slightly oversize so you can fit them

  • If your 1911 is GI them parts labeled as Mil Spec should interchange. Some fitting may be required?

  • I came across a forum post on this subject that says the Barrel Bushing, Front & Rear Sight, Hammer, Trigger, Grip Safety, the Whole Main Spring Housing, Thumb Safety, Sear, Disconnector, Sear Spring, Grip Panels (but not the screws because they're in metric), Mag Release, Sear Pin, Hammer Pin, Plunger Tube, and Plunger Spring should be compatible with any normal spec 1911 and evidently the poster is from ATI, the importer of this gun. Although I would expect that some parts may require fitting and would not work perfectly with simply a drop-in swap. Here is the link: https://forums.1911forum.com/showpost.php?p=2827155&postcount=6

  • Hi William - From what I could find it seems you could use a standard 1911 hammer and trigger in this pistol. "The American Tactical Imports GERG1911ADOP 1911 GSG Advanced Operator Pistol in .22 LR features a 5-inch barrel threaded M9x75, a faux suppressor for extra coolness, beavertail grip safety, and a matte black finish with black plastic grips. The GSG 1911 series is the same spec and weight as a 1911 in .45 ACP and is compatible with other 1911 parts. This pistol weighs in at 29.6 ounces without suppressor and has an overall length of 8.5 inches, or 12.5 inches with faux suppressor. Manufactured by GSG in Germany."

  • William, yes, this Pistol will work just fine for your purposes. [The GSG 1911 AD-OPS is a faithful reproduction of the classic full sized .45 ACP 1911. With a feel and weight that are essentially the same as the full blooded version this .22 Long Rifle makes a great choice for economical training pistol].
