  • I am not interested in points I just need some help on my purchase, I am a Vietnam vet and riles have changed so much that I am lost when it comes to making a purchase, I bought (From Buds) a AR15 And have no idea how to break it down that's one of the reasons I am going back in time besides in Vietnam I carried a M 14 and by the way I can use a 7.62 x 51??

  • Alexander, thank you for your Service Sir. I too am a veteran, although maybe younger. (You tube has many excellent how too videos for most firearm breakdown and reassembly). I had both the Scout and the Socom 16, and I liked the Scout better, so I kept it. I think it balances a bit better, and I liked the sights on the Scout much better than the Socom. As already posted, you could always swap the sights, but I kept the Scout, and have since changed out the muzzle device. I think part of the reason I kept the Scout as well is that you can change devices without having to swap the whole front sight assembly.

  • I don’t understand you. What’s the question? If it is Socom or Scout then it is your choice. It is subjective.
