Actually, I don't think this really has a retention level per se. The pistol does go into the holster, obviously, but the strap that goes over the firearm isn't much of retention. This is simply basically a nylon type material in which the firearm slides into. If you want to consider this trap and retention I guess you could consider retention but it's very slow if you trying to unholster and practice in a defensive manner.
