Diamondback Firearms DB10 .308 Winchester
Does this muzzle break simply screw on and off or is it a fixed part of the barrel itself?

yes it just screws on and off threads
are 5/8x24

The flash hider is just threaded on with a crush washer in between so it will come off. If for some reason you wanted to put it back on you would just want to get a new crush washer. The threads underneath are 5/8x24

Cole, it is screwed on with 5/8x24 threads and is removable/replaceable Sir. I replaced mine with a Linear Brake : budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/712016461/ultradyne+762+athena+linear+compensator5%2f8x24
