Federal Premium Vital-Shok TruBall Low Recoil Lead Rifled Slug 12ga 2-3/4" 5rd box
should this be enough to cycle the gas system to eject the spent shell and chamber the next round in a tactical semi like the RIA VR-80?

Scott, yes Sir no issue. The VR-80 comes with a Light and Heavy Load Gas Piston Ring. No worries firing.
