I have a Burris AR-536 on my AR-15. If the batteries die I can still use the scope. Will this scope work if the batteries die?

Yes to both. The scope does work without batteries. Batteries are only used for the Red and Green reticle , when turned on.
This optic has an "Etched reticle" yes it'll still be visible if the batteries die or the electronics fail
YES, the scope still works fine without the battery. It just will lose the green/red illumination dot in the middle. The crosshair will be there. I hope this helps!

James, yes Sir. The iluminated (color reticle's) use battery power. When no batteries or dead batteries, the reticle is just a standard non iluminated black. Cheers and stay safe!
