Why does BUDS require an FFL for ammo purchases??? Other online sites do not.

No person shall sell ammunition in the commonwealth unless duly licensed. It is the AG's opinion that for a company that is out-of-state to sell ammunition in MA, they would have to have a license to sell ammunition from every town in MA. Since that company doesn't have an address in a town in MA, they can't get such a license....There is no law that makes it legal for you to order ammunition from an out-of-state vendor, nor is there any law that makes it illegal for you to do so (assuming you have an LTC or FID). Other on line sites that are shipping ammo straight to someone's house are doing so at their own risk.

Jeff, according to Buds - Ammunition sales to Massachusetts residents only with LTC or FID AND must transfer through a Massachusetts-licensed ammunition seller who will agree to transfer first. Don't know if this is just their policy. If you can get ammo elsewhere without the hassle, i would. Cheers and be safe! budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/massachusetts_restrictions.pdf
