From what I'm reading only major difference is the American is smaller and lighter. It has a shorter barrel, shorter length of pull. Personally I'd choose the Euro for prairie dog hunting, the longer barrels going to give a decent boost in velocity Wich will really help on 300+ yard shots. The Americans a great gun and cz makes some of the best rifles but for your needs, Wich is shooting small objects from far off a bigger barrels always your friend. I'd definitely go with the Euro. Hope this helps.
