  • I’m sure it’s great in a rifled barrel, but in a smooth barrel up to what distance is it accurate? Thanks.

  • This is a rifled slug so its going to perform well out non rifled barrels, this is designed for barrier penetration at close distances , and to have stopping power, that said you should be able to IPSC size targets out to about 80 yards, if the shooter does their job, but its going to excell more at close quarters/home deffesne distances.

  • actually they are not good in a rifled barrel they are made for smoothbore barrels "rifled" slugs are made for smoothbore barrels (rifling on slug) Sabot slugs are made for Rifled barrels (rifling in barrel)

  • Yes, this will work fine. As others have said rifled slugs actually work best in smooth bores. You want sabot slugs in rifled bores. Accuracy distance will greatly depend on shooter skill and barrel length but I'd say around 70-80 yards is going to be about the breaking point. Best to set up a cardboard box and find out. Hope this helps.

  • Peter, rifles slugs are actually made for smooth bore barrels. This was developed for police & military, not really made for long range shooting, it has maximum stopping power at closer distances, however this should be accurate out to about 75 yds. Have a great day!

  • Peter, yes Sir it will. You will likely get the best performance out of a smooth bore with either a fixed cylinder choke of a removable choke gun shooting an improved cylinder choke. There is less deformation and better accuracy through the more open chokes than the tighter chokes. cheers and stay safe!
