  • James G., thanks for the info.
    I've heard Kimber uses proprietary parts. Could anyone confirm this? My eyes need an upgrade on sights. So the old Springfield GI is bring retired.
    Need a solid gun, and will slowly replace internals with Wilson Combat to fit my tastes.

  • Timothy, Kimber uses the old Swartz firing pin block which is disengaged by the grip safety, rather than the Colt Series 80 system. I don't know why Colt did not use the Swartz system, which they had already used on production guns 1939.
