  • Leroy, this has a reinforced polymer upper and lower, so both upper and lower are polymer. This has a 1:8 twist ratio. This wouldn't be a bad first AR15 because you will likely upgrade alot of parts and that's what you want for a first time AR. You want a cheaper one that you'll slowly upgrade parts and learn the the platform. If you already own one and know the platform I'd recommend something else. Here's a link to a radical firearms AR-15 for just a few bucks extra, I have owned two radical firearm ARs and both have been great and it has aluminum receivers. Hope this helps, link to radical firearms AR here.............. budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/415006889/radical+firearms+16+socom+5.56mm+ar15+30rd+mlok

  • Leroy, ***both*** upper and lower are Polymer with metal inserts at all critical upper/lower contact points with a barrel twist rate of 1 in 8 inches. Cheers and stay safe!
