A reviewer said it uses a magazine from another manufacturer but doesn't say which magazine, neither does the description say which.

Surprisingly enough, the Ruger 10/22 BX rotary mags are compatible with the Wildcat!!!

Yes, these are compatible with the rotary 10 round or larger 10/22 magazines made by Ruger.

Dale, the Wildcat is compatible with Ruger 10/22 rotary and BX series magazines, the only trade-off is you lose last-round bolt hold open when using 10/22 specific magazines.
