Works perfectly with any cheap surplus or steel ammo I have lying around-accurate enough with open sights, admittedly, that isn’t necessarily saying much. Need to get optic on it to really tell. Likes both steel and aluminum surplus G3 mags. Trigger doesn’t instill confidence with long over travel-despite this, it is a natural shooter. Effortless 4-5 inch open sight groups at 100 yards with Norma Whitetail 150gr-shooting say a round every 3 seconds-standing with forend resting on a sandbag perched atop a vehicle. Practically plinking really.

It took about 200 rounds before it ran good. The break in was not fun. Put wood furniture on it better buffer, 50 round mag, tigger job ,flat trigger, and sling. Aluminum mags are cheap $6. Runs good now. Looking for scope. You need a cheek pad for scope. Got a scope mount that allows iron sights to be used. Fun at range.I shot all different round good.

As usual Buds was fast and accurate with my order, rifle is as advertised and is a great shooter. Highly recommend Buds and the PTR

I have had this rifle for a while and is a nice shooting HK clone. I have ran close to 1000 rounds through it without a single issue. The fit and finish was perfect and as always Bud's delivers a great product!

I used a G3 when I did my national service in Germany and owning one was always on my bucket list since I moved to the US. This is a clone but a good one. I like the quality. A few things are different, and the most annoying difference is that there is no pivot pin on the lower trigger group. The original G3 allowed to "dangle" the lower trigger group when the stock was removed. Now when you pull the stock you run into a situation when this group just drops down. I also opted for the rail version to mount a more modern scope. That was a good choice. I since then purchased a Monstrum Banshee 1-6x24 LPVO and I am very impressed with this combination. Just be careful when you purchase a scope that it does not get in the way of your locking lever. But the Monstrum is just about right. Accuracy - my groups of three right now are 1/2" on 100 yards, but I am not yet satisfied as I am still breaking this in and will eventually tune to a better ammo. Speaking of that, it was very frustrating to go to the range the first 100 shots. Just bring a cleaning kit with you to not waste going back & forth to your home all the time. In my experience you should clean the gun after the first three shots, or it will start give you cycling problems. Then after 10 shots, then after 20 shots until you reach 100. It needs the time to break in. Some suggested to use metal casings, but I only use brass in my guns, period. The casings get very violently extracted so don't expect to reload them. During the break in period keep the gun well lubed. I don't remember using that much lube in the army, but these guns back then were well broken in and were operating even full of sand :). Pay attention to the bolt head gap when you experience extracting problems and lube the rollers very well. The kick back is not bad, significant less than my 308 hunting rifle. But, I am getting older and my shoulders are needing more care. I purchased a rubber bud pad that snaps in place like the original plastic one. Magazines are cheap and you get them everywhere. I have some aluminum and steel ones and after a deep clean & scrubbing there is no performance difference. Final verdict, I purchased this out of nostalgic reasons rather than the need for a modern rifle. There are better solutions out there, but I know this gun in and out and even after 30 years was disassembling down to the firing pin and assemble it in 45 seconds.

Always wanted a roller delayed firearm. Very accurate and fun to shoot. Does not like steel cased ammo at all. Anything brass though and it's a blast. Might change recoil spring and extracto to german original to see if that makes a difference. All in all, happy with purchase.

An amazing rifle that I have wanted to purchase for some time, just got it today, took to the range and had a blast, flawless finish furniture is better than expected, no issues so far, picatanny rail is straight, all welds are perfect iron sights were surprisingly accurate straight out of the box, this is definitely a rifle that will withstand anything you can dish out

Dream gun….put had to use a legit HK bolt as the stock PtR one kept binding up. Put on some G3 wood furniture and a trigger job and it’s amazing

Rifle looks cool and works well after break in period. Accessories are inda expensive if you start buying German. An AR10 is probably more practical but I live this thing.

Received a rifle today big scratch in Barrel about 4in Long apparently pgr is no longer bothering sending cases with their rifles mine showed up in a cardboard box pretty disappointed with that along with the scratch scratch may have been avoided if it was packaged properly hope it shoots well otherwise this will be a all around disappointment
