Mossberg & Sons 802 Plinkster 22 Long Rifle Bolt Action Rifle - 18" Barrel, 10+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Black Synthetic Stock

I purchased this 802 a few months to build the cheapest 22 plinker with some excess gear I had. This 802 had a good reviews on YouTube so I pulled the trigger and ordered from Buds. Came in quick to my FFL and picked it up, looked great with the factory sights which are bright.. Topped it off with a new bushnell trophy scope 10x14 I had and a bipod, zeroed in at 50 yards and consistently punching 1/2 inch holes with CCI standard velocity,, at 100yrds it opens up to an inch. It was doing so well I took it to the 200 yard range and with a hold off the target I'm doing 5 inches with the same ammo on a windy day. The trigger is pretty crisp considering its a budget rifle. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the setup, ive recently added 2 more pounds inside the stock with rice,nuts and bolts. I dremmeled out the stock a little bit to truly have the barrel free floating, and camo'd the stock, grouping is tighter and the feel is more sturdy.. First 22 bolt action now added to the 6 other 22 semi's in the safe. Only drawback i see is the lack of available 802 magazine available.

CRAP for my son. The bolt will not catch onto the rim of the .22 I have to dig each one out with a knife.

The mossberg 820 is a great rifle. Feels great in hands and is very accurate to use. The rear sight is mostly plastic but very sturdy.it looks like the top of breech frame meets bolt has a tolerance that hits the bolt. I just lube the area . The bolt action is engaged with the outward up pull motion so support hand has a firm grip.
I cleaned and practice shooting within hrs of arrival to ffl.
I really like the firearms and highly recommend it to anyone.
