Kenny, the barrel IS THREADED. This info came straight from the horse's mouth, Legacy Sports. Instead of guessing, I emailed and asked if model HGR62503 has a threaded barrel. Here is reply from Brenda Terschuren, Customer Service/Warranty Representative, Website: www.legacysports.com "Hi Ed, Yes it is threaded 1/2 - 28”.

Kenny, unfortunately no Sir. It has a 22 inch Free-floating, #2 Contour Barrel with a twist rate of 1:8" and Target Crown. Cheers and stay safe! Kenny, this does not have a threaded barrel. This has a 22 inch #2 contour free floating barrel with a 1:8 twist ratio but it's not threaded. Hope this helps.

Ordered this rifle from buds was supposed to be a green stock but received a black stock lol, i didn't make a fuss about it i just wanted my rifle, i mounted a Vortex scope 4x12x44 and vortex scope rings, sighted it in a inch high @100 yds it did good 1inch group after i sighted left to right and up and down, using Federal 140gr Non Typical Ammo, keep in mind i sighted in this rifle on a shooting sled on the back of my trucks tailgate lol i did not access or time to use a bench, took it out this rifle season in South Texas shot a 8p broken cull buck with a 1inch drop tine nudge, 143yd neck shot DRT Nap, this is my 2nd Howa rifle they shoot straight and on the money, Cant go wrong with a howa and buds for good quality and good prices...

Everything went smoothly as usual with purchasing from buds. They still need to bone up on their California gun laws though.

Wow what a shooter. Cant believe it. Boresighted at 50 yards 2 shots. Went to 100 yds and it was 1 inch high and 1/2 inch right at 100 yds. Flat shooting rifle. Trigger is unbelieveable, 2.5 lbs. Adjusted and that was it. Cant wait to shoot it at 200 yds plus.
