I was concerned about the double stack grip thickness but the ergonomics of this pistol render that a moot point. Hand falls into a solid grip. Nice beaver tail helps this. Reports of knuckle issues caused by the sculpting of the beaver tail transition do not affect me. No problems.
I've mounted a Vortex Viper red dot on it for USPSA CO. I'm using that until the price comes down, and the reliability is proven on the new Trijicon SRO. It's a slightly different hold than my optic 1911 that I shoot in IDPA, so that's slowing me down a bit on the presentation, but I'm sure more use will smooth that out.
As of this date I've put about 600 rounds thru it with no malfunctions. My DG 147gr. FP's @ 1.148 plunk and chamber no problem and over the chrono they run about 890 FPS for 130PF.
Taylor Freelance +6 mag extensions give me 21 rounds to start a stage.
I think it's a keeper.
