What can I say...great looks, incredibly smooth action. I definitely feel that the rifle prefers .357 Ammo best. But a heavier .38 worked just fine. Really fun to shoot. Very accurate right out of the box. Zero adjustments so far. Load and shoot. Bought it for the range but I also see it working well for home defense...better than I initially would’ve thought.

This is probably my most favorite firearm yet!! The action is smooth and precise as all Henry lever guns are. I had zero issues with Bud's and the firearm arrived in a timely fashion!!

It’s a Henry, bought one in 357, and another in 44 long colt. Great guns, accurate and great brush rifles. Both good out to about 175 yds iron sites 240 yds with 20*50 scope.

Excellent transaction with Buds as usual, it's come to be expected as I've been dealing with them for years and they very seldom disappoint. This Henry is a beautiful firearm. Fit, finish, and action are impeccable. The only thing that gave me pause before purchasing was some YouTube and forum content claiming .38 Special may not always cycle reliably in this rifle - I found that not to be the case. Today, first time out, I fired 150 rounds of Sellier and Bellot .38 Special 158g FMJ along with 100 of rounds of GECO .357 and all rounds cycled and fired without a hitch. I believe Henry's manual indicates that only 158g should be used, so if one sticks with that weight and the overall cartridge length is close to a .357 round you should not have any issues either. Some may not be too crazy about the tubular magazine although I'm used to it from my old Marlin 39As. Besides, 10 rounds of .357 or 11 of .38 Special - what's not to like there? Conveniently pre-drilled for optics I went with the Skinner Express peep sight and, as with my other lever actions, was very happy with accuracy. Lots of fun to shoot, and with the mild-to-wild range of ammunition choices I expect to enjoy my Henry for many years to come.

I bought this rifle to compliment my 357 Ruger revolver. I've put around 500 rounds through it so far and it is reliable and comfortable to shoot. While the action is not as smooth as my Henry Frontier (22 lr), it has worked with everything I've used from 38 sp, 38 sp +p, and various 357 loads. These have included lead round nose, full metal jacket, TC and hollow-points. The action has to be done deliberately, slowing it down or pausing in the midst of the cycle can cause the round to jam when feeding, though this is easily cleared by jiggling the action. Worse case scenario you dump the round by tilting the gun to the right and then chamber a fresh one. The rifle is very accurate out to 50 yds using the semi-Buckhorn sites and will also put solid hits on paper and steel at 100 yds with little drop when using 357 mag loads. Everyone who has shot it he appreciates the mild recoil, even with the 357 mag loads. The gun attracts a lot of attention at the range both because its a 357 lever action and because or its striking appearance. Another advantage of the hard chrome finish is that you can take it out in the worse weather, leave it in the truck for the weekend, and it cleans up like new once you get it home. While some folks are put off by the loading tube, I don't see it as a problem. Once you get the hang of it, its pretty quick and no pinched fingers. Emptying it by literally pouring the ammo out of the tube is also a breeze.
