Pointer Semi-Automatic 20 Gauge 28" 3" Walnut Stk Blued Rcvr - 28" Barrel, 4+1 Rounds, Wood, 3" Chamber, Walnut Stock

The Pointer/Escort/Howa 20 Ga. is in my opinion, a well made gun. Everything seems to fit well. It has a very nice walnut stock that is semi gloss. The bluing looks like it is pretty well done, with no flaws that I can see. So far it has functioned flawlessly, with 3 in magnum shells and low power target ammo. It has a magazine shut off switch on the receiver, for some reason, probably so you could unload the chamber without unloading the magazine. The only negative thing is the finish in the pictures on Bud's website are of a high gloss when the gun is actually semi gloss. Not a deal breaker for me. Buds was as usual, quick in shipping the gun. Bottom line for me is a very nice 20 Ga at a reasonable price, It has gone up About 40 dollars but still at 433 its a good deal

The gun is beautiful and functions flawlessly. I've shot several rounds of skeet and trap and it hasn't failed once using cheap Walmart loads. It uses what appears to be Beretta optima HP chokes and it comes with 5 flush chokes in a better made box than a lot of other shotguns. It was a great purchase and it's climbing to the top of my all time favorite shotguns list.

Wood is more satin and not glossy like shown in picture but I'm fine with that. The checking on the wood is different. Don't care much for it but it works. The shotgun appears to be sort of a Beretta clone. I have the Beretta A303 in 12 gauge. The Beretta is better made but cost twice as much. This shotgun lives up to it's name: Pointer. It points very well and is fairly light. I shoot better with it than my expensive shotguns so far. I'm not crazy about the plastic or polymer trigger group and safety but so far it works fine. Have put about 200 rounds through it with no issues. Don't know if it will hold up to extensive clay shooting but makes a great hunting shotgun. I'd buy it again and I would also buy the 12 gauge but my Beretta is a 12 gauge and they are similar, so no need for another one.
