  This in fact would be an excellent shooter Tom. It is about as close to the original (less the super fun switch of course) as you can get.

  it is of a very good quality as to if it would go good in your collection only you can answer that If you want a Classic M-16 look alike it would be ideal and fit well in your collection

• Q: I'm a little worried about Colt's quality due to their new business strategery. Are there other quality brands that have the retro solid wood stock and carrying handle but maybe in FDE? I like the SIG M400 Enhanced quality and accuracy but no retro M16 feel.

  Troy and Brownells offer a cheaper alternative that are nice rifles but there are details on those that are not as correct as this Colt M16A1. The Colt is much more expensive, but it depends what you want. This rifle is more detailed and accurate and it has the Colt name. Also part of a limited run. Quality will be fine for what it is. Even if parts are outsourced by another US company what difference does it make for a retro. Most AR companies outsource many of their parts anyway. Choice was easy for me. I bought the Colt and it is a fine rifle.
