The latest evolution in our semi-automatic shotgun line, the 1012 uses a gas-less inertia operating system. Instead of redirecting gas from the barrel to run the action, the 1012 uses a spring within the bolt to store energy during the shotgun’s recoil, spending this energy a split second later to rotate and unlock the twin lugs from the barrel extension and withdraw the spent shell.
The major advantage of an inertia system is the less stringent maintenance schedule. Unlike gas guns that need periodic cleaning of the piston and magazine tube, the 1012’s needs are vastly fewer. During our testing, we pushed 1012s to 5,000 rounds without a drop of oil or cleaning of any sort, while experiencing zero parts breakage or malfunctions. In normal field use, the occasional cleaning and oiling should be more than enough.
Additionally, the gas-less system itself is tuned to run a wider variety of shells — from light-recoiling target loads up to the smoking hot 3″ magnums currently on the market.

I took the CZ 1012 out with Magnum 3 inch heavy shells and med choke in barrel I got slightly less recoil than the old 870. I also gained the lighter carry of the 1012 CZ. I put my cardboard up in tree for pattern check, three inch BB shot very good, Two three fourth eight shot very good also. The barrel looks like chrome on inside! The 1012 comes with full set of chokes, Plates to adjust stock to receiver fitment, a nice hard case to hold all. The gun is light but due to the way it uses impact from shell to reload another round you get less felt recoil. I tried lighter loads which I never use hunting and they cycled as fast as I could pull the trigger. I've shot many new shotguns but this by far is the most perfect working shotgun I've used. I took the magazine plug out to test multiple shots and I noticed one small thing with the magazine tube plug out you can only put three of the three inch shells in tube making it Four NOT five shot as advertised. The 1012 holds Five if you use two and three fourth inch shells. I keep plug in my magazine so, no big deal for me. Buy it you will like it. Buds service also 5 star
