Nope, not legal in Cook County IL. All semi-auto rifle with a detachable mag is illegal in Cook county. The only semi-auto rifle you can own there is SKS, M1 Garand, and maybe M1 carbine. I live in Chicago so I know this for a fact. I hope this helps

Vern, yes Sir it does. Also, The bolt handle can be moved to either side of the gun, and so can the ejection...and they can be moved from one side to the other, independently of each other.

I only have a long gun permit. Is this considered a rifle or pistol?

It is a rifle barrel is 17" (16" and over is rifle lenght) it also has an m4 stock, pistols are only permitted to have a brace, unless you register it as an SBR (Short barreled rifle) with the atf, and pay for your tax stamp.

I have read horror stories bout JRC but thought things would be different with a 3rd gen. Boy was I wrong. Double feed every time it tries to cycle no matter what ammo or magazine I use. I contacted JRC and they have been entirely unresponsive. Do not purchase this firearm!

I have run 400+ rnds through this so far. I love the ambidextrous option since I am left hander. So far so good. I did have an issue with ejection and feed. Not sure if it was the ammo or what but more I shot the less I had issue. It also behaved better after I set up for left hand ejection. The safety is a bit bulky and rubs my trigger finger. Setup and takedown are very easy. Remember there are no sites on take down model so be prepared for additional purchase. I bought an inexpensive red dot, sighted in and dead on, very reliable accurate grouping. Sling is great holds all of my range equip.

Love this carbine! It came in quick to my FFL in Arizona. Took it to the indoor range and at 25 yards it was dead on using a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 red dot and no malfunctions using Freedom Munitions 230 gr FMJ, 200 rounds. Have since put on an Elite Irons suppressor wrap on the fore end hand grip. It really feels good compared to the bare metal and it fits like a glove and really looks good. The size was a 1.5 x 9”. I also added the Hogue over molded AR hand grip and commercial AR butstock which also gave me a single point QD mount for my para-cord sling. Love Buds great service and pricing.

I have been looking for a pistol/rifle in the .45 caliber for a long time and this popped up in one of my emails from Buds. It is at my FFL right now for the waiting period but I did get a chance to go look at it, hold it, check out the slide action. It is just the right size of weapon for just about any application you want to use it for. I would not say it is for hunting but time will tell. I have purchased many guns from Buds and they have always stood behind what they sell. Delivery is always fast. No complaints here. I am excited to fire this gun once I get it. The pack that comes with it is a nice added feature.

I put a Vortex Spitfire 3X scope on this rifle and at 50 yards I can group new 230FMJ 21/2 inches. So far, with genuine Glock magazines, I have not had any failures to feed or eject.. The gun is easy to take apart and clean, especially the barrel. Some folks whine about how much trouble it is but if you're going to properly clean the gun you have to do it anyway. The only drawback I see is getting parts from the Just Right factory. Barrels are unavailable due to production demands, the keymod handguard is unavailable, etc. Three other items I would pick nits about are 1) the machining job on the feed ramp of the barrel is horrible. Although I have yet to have a failure to feed it still looks like someone jammed the breech end over a cone shaped grinding wheel for about two seconds. 2) The requirement to use only Slip 2000 EWL to clean and lubricate the gun. 3) The requirement to clean and lubricate the gun after every session or 200 rounds. I clean any gun I shoot after each session at the range, however, the 200 round limit is concerning.

I really like this arm... perfect for home defense and also wood defense in cougar country!!!! I broke it down as soon as I got it and oiled and polished everything!!!! I haven't had any issues!!!! Its affordable enough to take a chance on it
